going good, how's the Heer looking? What's your plan for it?

The Heer? Dunno what you're referring to. I just translated Heer and the army is doing well, so far 4 of 6 panzer divisions have been built, I have also ordered a number of infantry divisions to be built. Also building many Garrison divisions. Haven't done much with the Luftwaffe, but the Wehrmacht is being built up as well as the Kriegsmarine. The Luftwaffe will get their chance to improve as well.

The citizens of Hamburg turned out in droves to watch as the Battleship Bismarck was launched and prepared for her sea trials to begin. The Bismarck was the most powerful new ship to be launched by the Kriegsmarine in several years. If all went well she would resoundingly defeat any who challenged her might.

Very interesting that you decided to postpone the invasion of Poland until the summer of '40!!

Also, I would have been very interested to see your Army/Air Force/Naval composition at 1 Sep '39

Way to go boy, war is getting nearer by the minute! I'm eager to see the wehrmacht in action for the first time :)

You might be a bit disappointed. I don't have any immediate plans for large scale war.

March 30 1939

Prague Czechoslovakia: After much negotiation with Joachim Ribbentrop, the German's top negotiator Czechoslovakia admitted defeat and collapsed. The Fuhrer ordered Wehrmacht troops into the country to maintain order in the wake of the governmental collapse. In the eastern part of the country Fascist Slovakian seperatists declared independence from Czechoslovakia, seeing a potential ally the Fuhrer ordered Ribbentrop to offer all assitance requested by Tiso, the leader of the Slovakian seperatists. Several days later Ribbentrop returned with a complete alliance with the Slovakians.

August 24 1939

Moscow Russia: It was announced today that a full and binding alliance was signed between the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and Germany. The Poles were immediately worried of the potential consequences of this alliance. In the allies capitals, military planners were shocked at the announcement, with Russian manpower being fed into a German army it would spell almost certain doom for the Allies.

September 5 1939

Berlin Germany: In a speech televised to the nation on August 30th, Joachim Ribbentrop announced the sudden resignation of the Fuhrer for personal reasons. The nation's foremost negotiator would assume the position of Fuhrer in accordance with the previous Fuhrers wishes and desires. He also announced a demand of the Poles, they would be forced to cede Danzig and the surrounding areas, or face war with the armed forces of Germany and the Soviets. Needless to say that when Poland heard of this ultimatum they had no realistic option other than to bow to the ultimatum.

Behind the scenes:

Laying on the desk of the Fuhrer was an envelope, Ribbentrop read through the files and smiled deviously. His plan had worked, using the falsified documents provided to him by his contacts in the intelligence services he forced the Fuhrer to resign and cede that position which he held to himself(Ribbentrop). Shortly after the Fuhrer left the office the intelligence services arrested the resigned Fuhrer on Ribbentrops orders. He could not and would not allow that man to regain his popularity among the people by presenting his accusers accusations as lies. Being slightly more firm than the previous Fuhrer, Ribbentrop made his presence known by first calling in Hermann Goring into his office, setting the man straight Ribbentrop sent him out, escorted by two intelligence service officers. Next he called a meeting with Admiral Donitz and set him straight as well, ordering him to cooperate with Grand Admiral Raeder in providing the naval support he required. Ribbentrop then called in Raeder to apologize for the troubles Goring and Donitz were creating for him and pledged his full support and friendship to bring the Kriegsmarine up to the strength it should rightfully have been. Ribbentrops next order of business was to draft a letter to Wilhelm II inviting him to rule his country once more.

did u trigger the alliance with russia or were you extremely lucky?

I tweaked the event to make it more realistic, because as far as I know the Russians made the offer to Ribbentrop, and Da Fuhrer was the one to decline it.

October 1939

Hungary Agreed to join in an alliance with Germany.

November 1939

Joachim von Ribbentrop after making numerous gestures towards Denmark offered them a deal they could not refuse easily. For an undisclosed amount of Deutchmarks, and Natural Resources the Danish government would agree to sell Kolding and Iceland to Germany. The Battleship Tirpitz was launched in Wilhelmshafen.

January 1940

After researching advanced mechanical computers, the same research team presented theoretical data showing the possibility of creating a smaller, more manageable electronic computing system.

Luxembourg seeing the threat of the increasingly more bellicose Soviet state applied for Statehood in Germany to be better protected from a possible Soviet attack.

May 1940

The Battleship(Super Heavy) Friedrich der Grobe was launched in Hamburg.

After much Negotiation with individual countries, and within the League of Nations, Germany successfully applied for and received approval to reclaim her former colonies, as well as to become a member state of the League. As part of the deal France, who's economy was still languishing from the global depression agreed to cede territory to Germany that had been captured in the war and apologized to Germany for their harsh treatment of the country at the Versaille treaty meetings. Germany also made a deal to purchase Curacao from Holland.

Is it possible to avoid war with the USSR? If so I want to try and do that at all costs, very resource rich friend I have in them.

This sentence reveals a fundamental error in your long-term strategic thinking. It is true the Soviets will give you some juicy resource trades, and they will stay neutral for a while after war breaks out. But eventually you must come to grips with them. You can go with the strong western strategy, build up a nice navy/airforce, and whack everything from Scotland to Suez first, but you'll have to DoW them eventually or they'll attack first. It's best to attack them by the spring of 1941, but if you need to clean up in the West and then time to build up, you'll be ok in 1942. The Soviets will be tougher then but so will you. Read other threads or ask about forces you'll need to plan on having built for a spring offensive there in either 1941 or 1942. Once you learn how to beat the Bear, you'll be able to do it earlier, or even later.

The alliance you have will make for an interesting variant, but it's better to learn to beat them for their resources.

Well things have changed, I ended my alliance with them and am building my own alliance, as well as hoping the Allies DOW the Soviets. But anyways, we'll see where things go.
