I set up a betrothal between my infant brother and an infant baroness. After my brother reached 16, I granted him a barony to keep him in my realm.

I just assumed they married, and noticed they were still betrothed 5 years later.

They never completed the betrothal process. I eventually had to grant him a county, and they married straight away.

I would see that situation as this. The female baron kept offering a matrilineal marriage and your son wanted normal one. Neither side agreed to other persons opinion as they were both same level rulers. After you made him a count he had the upper hand and the female ruler agreed as she was marrying a higher tear ruler. So this might not really a be a bug.

No, I'm not sure this is a bug. It's not ideal that they'd be betrothed for five years without being able to agree upon a marriage, but I think this is WAD.

I don't think that follows. I have had count/countess betrothals going through before. I seem to remember having a duke/duchess happen as well.

Either this was an odd one (a proud baroness), or a bug. It seemed unreasonable to me. They can dispute their superiority, but 5years is ridiculous. The should have broken the bethrothal entirely, rather than stay unmarried.

I don't have the save any more. I will try and set up another and see what happens.
