I always thought cannonisation was when a bunch of cannons fire at something. Then that something is "cannonised".
Although, you might argue that it makes them more attractive, lol.
A "cannon" in this case is a rod for measuring. So the "cannon of scripture" is those holy books that are considered to be correct, as opposed to Apocrypha, which were holy books generally considered to be of lesser value. Okay, so technically "Apocrypha" is the opposite of "Apocalypse" and means something like "hidden", but in reference to scripture, it generally is applied to less reliable works.I always thought cannonisation was when a bunch of cannons fire at something. Heheheheh, I've finally seen it the other way! Orthodox are using distinction Christian vs. Catholic all over the place.the Christian-Orthodox relation,
These are not even closely the core of grammar rules of English, merely some prescriptive modifying. Read "Sound Pattern of English" and "Syntactic structures", for the Force's sake.A lot of grammar rules in English are essentially somebody in the 1800s(?) deciding, "This is how Latin worked, so from now on we're doing it in English." Split infinitives, ending sentences in prepositions...
I suppose s/he means that the "rod for measuring" has a single n.A "cannon" in this case is a rod for measuring. So the "cannon of scripture" is those holy books that are considered to be correct, as opposed to Apocrypha, which were holy books generally considered to be of lesser value.
Doo-pi-doo, I should have noticed that.I suppose s/he means that the "rod for measuring" has a single n.

I wouldn't say they "usually" had bastards, though it certainly happened. Will HF improve the behavior of the clergy? That they also acted political, had usually bastards etc?
Will historical figures be given "sainthood" in the history files for when they're dead, I guess? It would be nice to see "St." before all those ancient Popes.
Though if they're going to do that, would they bother to find out who was sainted when (ie, so-and-so died in 432 and sainted in 1204, so he doesn't get "St." before his name unless you start in 1204 or later) or just slap it onto people who were sainted up to yesterday? Retconning, I guess. The first method makes sense, but is probably CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZY hard to do.
The problem would be, are you going by when somebody was canonized by the Catholic Church or when somebody was recognized as a saint on the local level? Because those things can happen centuries apart. St. Joan of Arc and St. Jadwiga of Poland are two examples of saints being canonized by the church hundreds of years after they were considered saints in France and Poland respectively. The church usually wasn’t that bad in documenting. So I’m wuite sure you can easily find a date for every saint.
The estates-esque mechanics wehre you balanced the power and loyalty of the clergy, nobles, burghers, and peasants in the various counties in your demense. So, with coronation and sainthood, is that all of the cut features from CK1 implemented now? I can't think of anything else that's still missing.
Eh, not always. Mieszkok I successfully Christianized Poland but not only never became a saint, I don't think there was ever any real effort by either the Polish clergy or the Piast dynasty to get him declared a saint. Admittedly, Poland is rather odd in that neither its first Christian rulers nor the missionaries who spread Christianity (who we know basicalthere were canonized. Typically at least one of thosePlease give Sainthood to other Christians.
For example, a Pagan ruler who successfully baptises his realm should become a saint.
It has happened IRL and would give other Christians some flavour without being hard to implement.

St. Adalbert of Prague was indeed a significant early saint in Polish history, with Poland and Bohemia literally fighting over control of his relics.św wojciech/adalbert. maybe of prussia was saint afaik
Remember that Pdox sometimes likes to keep us in suspense right up until the last moment.Release date still TBA?
Little surprising, I thought this might be out late summer.
Remember that Pdox sometimes likes to keep us in suspense right up until the last moment.
Just last weekend they announced the date for Distant Stars which ended up being the following Tuesday, just 3 days later.
Maybe they have been already working on it for some time since the Jade Dragon. Remember that the Jade Dragon didn't really add any significant features so maybe we can hope for Holy Fury to be out soonI wouldn't expect the same thing to happen for HF.
Why?
It has new societies, which take really long time to implement and even more time to debug (see number of fixes for the hermetics in the last patch).
Midsummer is in less than a month. After that it's vacations and lack of focus in sweden.
DLCs tend to release after big holidays/vacations.
Based on that, expect a release in late August up to mid September. Earliest.
