At any point did they announce if any new victory conditions will be coming in this patch/plc? I know that in most cases many of us make our own in the traditional sandbox environment that stellaris gives us, but it would be nice to see some more direction especially with the new mega structures coming. There is definitely a lot of potential there.

They said they were removing flat victory conditions from the game and adding in "goals" that you set out for yourself at the start. They weren't happy with way they panned out, as AIs could win even though your empire was doing great.

Clarification: Wiz has stated that that is the direction he wants to take the game in the future, but there's no solid plans being worked on for it at the moment. At the very least not until Banks/Utopia are out.

Oh! That sounds pretty rad. So if i'm understanding you right, even if I get my butt kicked by a fallen empire there may still be a chance for me to win as long as i'm not going for a military victory. This sounds like it's going to open up tons of different play styles. Which is good, because I found that a few methods of play style, mainly peaceful and isolationist, were a little underwhelming.
