Personally I found it useless in Tyranny with my play styles. In PoE. You had food, potions, scrolls, and summon items. And the quantities were so large you could have your entire party eat 3-4 food items each and chug 1-2 potions before every encounter. I mean if you wanted to micro and power game at that level.
Plus in Tyranny you can have at least every character have 2 heals and 2 buffs if they aren't damaging dealing spell users. Even kills and barik can heal and buff. Kind of made potions/food slightly useless if you are looking to micro your party less. Plus depending on companions you can get 2 healing per encounter combos and I think another per rest. There is so many abilities in Tyranny I didn't even want to be bothered with food and potions.
I guess it was MMO influence on Obisidan cause in PoE and Tyranny there is just so much stuff. Especially PoE where money is like limitless. Think 1 run I ended with like 400k and I bought every unique item in game just to hoarde them all. Also purchased countless potions/food items even though I almost never used them. And the crafting materials were infinite.
I only ever used regular healing potions on my PotD playthrough, so I don't think it's particularly necessary (unless you're doing something like using a non-magic using party). I'd rather go for the 2 Thrust upgrades (Mark Enemy and To Arms!) to get to Arbiter of Knowledge.
Got it instead of Mark Enemy on path, having 2 slots is kinda ok, not vital though, extra heal from potions is ok bonus aswell, not sure if it affects other consumables, i think so at least for some. Overall i think it isn't that great but with +damage active to get spell slots not bad.
