Out of curiosity, what sort of content are you looking for in your ideal Balkan Expansion / Immersion Pack / Update? Not that we have anything planned in this region, but I'd like to gather some feedback to give to the dev team! I might not answer to all of you, but rest assured, everything will be read and inked down
14. Provinces biensur - defense bonus on Danube provinces.
1. Events. Tons of events.
3. For example, I am not sure if the engine allows it, but I'd like to see events popup during sieges helping Balkan defenders against the Ottomans or other big powers, events halving the attackers troops or even more, forcing a white flag retreat. Events based on the siege of Kruje, Belgrad, Neamt, Skodra, etc.
"Your majesty, during the siege of X, a german prisoner had an excellent tactical idea. The Turkish cannons used to bombard our positions were decimated in a surprise attack". As a result, not sure if it's possible, the attacking troops are halved and forced to retreat with the white flag.
"Your highness, a surprise attack from the friendly troops of Venetia sent to our aid in a secret mission by bla bla managed to devastate the besieging ottoman camp from X, killing the general Y and routing the attacking forces". Result, general dies, army is routed.
4. Vampires in Transylvania!
Joking aside, superstitious events that give balkan troops and non-Balkan attackers like the Otts negative or positive morale for x months, years. Mostly negative for non-Balkan troops, both positive and negative for Balkan troops. This is a must be!
6. Balkan policies. But for this you'd need to ditch the actual policy system, which, by the way, sucks, and instead of giving us 120 policies with many crap policies that don't account the play style, create a meaningful policy system with less policies in the beginning, but all worthy ones. Separate them by RP, playing tall, playing wide, playing religious, playing Babylon style, etc., and give regional policies too. Hard to do it tho, a lot of work.
11. This.
1.27 Poland/Lithuania/Romania; Feedback for provinces
8. Partial this:
Suggestion for "Geopolitical" changes in the Balkans
9. Probably impossible, but I'd love to see a Balkan music pack.
32. If you do the Balkans, you'd most certainly have to touch a bit the Ottomans too. They are a big part of Balkan history, we like it or not. Events where the leader of a Balkan country can choose to send his son to the Ottoman court, and instead it gets a special relation with the Ottomans. Better than vassal, but worse than an independent kingdom. Refusing it will insta give the Ottomans some CB and a big relationship penalty.
32.a Temporary appearance of Ottoman Balkan vassals, not sure if possible based on the current engine. I.e., the Ottomans own all Wallachian cores. An event releases Wallachia as a special Ottoman vassal or a normal vassal until the current Wallachian ruler dies, or something like that, integrating them back upon death ( if things don't go south of course

).
33.b More Ottoman - Balkan special relations. Decisions that can be triggered by Balkan kingdoms for temporary advantages or disadvantages. Ask the help of the great vizir in exchange of vassalage until the current Balkan leader dies for example. The Balkan kingdom becomes a temporary vassal of the Ottomans, helping it against other invasions, but on ruler's death, the vassalage is broken and a diplo penalty is also incurred, because the great vizir wants to make the vassal a permanent vassal. And a CB of course. Bla bla.
411. Events that give Balkan defenders against the Ottomans manpower or cash sent by European Christians.
17. Austria / Balkans events. Friendly and not so friendly. In fact, there are too many things that could be added to such a DLC, and I am too lazy for this.
For a free steam key for EU 6 I will make an ordered detailed list with suggestions based on what I'd like to see in a future Balkan patch and what these two threads add to that.
EDIT1: Make possible a Balkan game where based on very good diplomatic decisions you can hold your horses for a long time, even expanding if you play your cards well with the surrounding big powers, mainly the Ottomans.
Give missions where if your Balkan ruler has 12 in diplomacy ( little exaggeration ), you can ask things from the HRE emperor, from the Papal State, to combat the Ottomans, or from the Ottomans, against the HRE or Poland or whatever. Or better, use your diplomacy as a factor in some kind of missions that repeat themselves in specific situations, and the chance of having your request granted is based on your diplo stats. 1 means that it's highly probable to get it, 6 means that it's 90% probably to get it. Again.

You get my point.
