Bug** ?

I`m played usually without federations, and here that the decided to try... Went in already established, there i become boss. I`m receive the Federation fleet. In this fleet have only 1 type of corvettes, and how to add other types of ships, I do not understand! I can go to the designer of Federation ships, there to create new project Federation ships, but if I go to the manage fleet variety of ship designs to add created project, it consists only of my own types of ships (for my Empire), which i`m cant included in the Federation fleet, and those that I have created in the Configurator for the Federation - there is missing!

I don't speak English very well, sorry.

Federation fleets do not actually use the fleet manager, or at the very least they don't use it well. You need to manually build the federation designs in your shipyards, which are marked with shipname (federation), and your other federation members will build whatever designs have been made in the federation fleet designer and send them to merge with one federation fleet, usually the first one created. Auto upgrade also doesnt seem to work with federation designs, so you need to go back and manually update them every once and a while, and then the ai will switch to building those new designs.

No.... I tried it, created new ships federation as you said, but AI continues to stamp the very first ship, not paying attention to the numbers listed in the "fleet management" and on the new ships added to me in fleet...
It's a bug, right? Are they going to fix it in patches?

--------------EDIT-----

OH NO! You're right! After the AI members of the Federation got the destroyer technology, they finally began to build not only corvettes!!! Everything became normal!
BUT!!! After all, members of the Federation must have all the technologies of other members of the Federation to create a fleet of the Federation!
Okay, it's not that important, but I still think it's a bug.

I perhaps misspoke somewhat when I said "federation fleet designer", i actually meant the federation ship designer.

You have no capacity to dictate what ships the ai decides to build and merge into the federation fleet, other than making sure all of the designs in the federation ship designer are ones that you want them to build. The federation ship designer is the special one that can only be accessed through the federation fleet tab of the federation interface, and all ships designed in it are federation ships. The ai will simply pick a ship design based on their own logic from that list and build it. Usually they will end up mostly building corvettes early on with the federation fleet shifting towards heavier designs as the game progresses.

Trying to control what ships are in the federation fleet with the fleet manager is an unfortunately pointless exercise.

It is probably more accurate to describe the way this works as a failure to implement the nice fleet management tools to work with federation fleets, rather than a bug. As much as I would love to see this fixed, it has worked like this since the introduction of the fleet manager in 2.0 and as far as I know the devs have not mentioned any plans to change it.
