I think there have been a number of very good points made.

Human players do intervene, but not always and sometimes there are not enough players, not everyone is fortunate enough to have the time or connection to play in large games all the time.

4BB for a declaration of war is high but getting a CB isnt so difficult, well it will not be so difficult when the Independance guarenteed works properly.

Who here actually uses the warning and independance guarenteed diplomatic function? IF you want to avoid BB here is your answer....

I think that BB in MP ought to be there but for all levels not just VH, or it would be too restricting on the players.

Maybe an even better idea would be to just give a cb to every country of the religion of an annexed nation on the person who annexed it, for a period of maybe 6-12 months? I think this would make it still a possibility for bb wars but not a sure thing.

I only play SP to strategize for MP... partially because of the unrealistic "20 dows on you in 5 days because of your BB", and also because we play MP nearly every night, so I get my EU fix.

Yeah, i'm on 1.06, but SP bb sucks :(

My Mistake, then.
I really don't see the need for enforcing the SP badboy in MP, but if that's what happens, I guess I'll just have to start playing "Hard" instead of VH.

It is great when the game (thanks to Johan and company) adjusts itself so you don't have to enforce outside rules/edits. :)

Well with the new system of how bb goes down, and it seems to go generally down quite fast, i dont have as many problems as i did before. If i had known how fast it went down i wouldnt have been so against it. ;)

Actually Im somewhat disapointed that it seems soo "easy" - the 1/2/3% is too easy with a BB cap of 39 u can rack up 18BB with hardly no stability cost problems....

I like it with harder BB rules. Its more challenging and very much more historical when military annexations inflict a severe penalty. Historically they were very rare. If people are upset because they can't go on a no-brainer, no-penalty, no-challenge annexation rampage feast the first couple of years of every campaign without running into any sort of opposition let them play Warcraft instead.
It IS possible to become a great power without racking up loads of BB but yes it takes some more time, patience, skill and planning.

I'm in favor of the increased stab cost for increased BB rule!

Instead of making stab costs go up with BB, why not link it with WE?? (basically, more BB means faster WE rises) I mean surely even your loyal supporters would soon get tired of you if you were constantly striving for more and more land as soon as possible, without thinking about how to consolidate your gains.

I am for bad boy wars in multiplayer, but first there is a need to redo the bad boy system because currently it just doesnt make sense.

to have 1 bad boy rating for one nation towards every other nation in the world is very unrealistic.

each nation should have a individual bad boy rating for each other independant nation

i.e. Austria considers France to be a bad boy worth 30 points, but Prussia only considers France to be a bad boy of 20 points, a not-so-bad bad boy if you will. (how france got to these levels is irrelevent at the moment)

say then France annexes Lorraine, raising its BB rating for Austria from 30 to 36, breaching the 35 point barrier. Prussia now has a rating towards france of 26, still safely below 35.

the results : Austria DoW's france(along with any other nations that have over 35 Bad boy points towards france) but Prussia does not (along with any other nations that have <35 bad boy points towards france)

a much more interesting a realistic result.

unless a system is implimented like this, i am for keeping bad boy wars as far away from multiplayer as possible.

reasoning : when games take so long and realiable players are so hard to find at times, you just dont always have time to wonder how bad of a bad boy you are actually being.
