Badboy issues

1. One of my vassals got attacked by some turks, and of course I decided to help him, but sometime, when I was not paying attention, I noticed that my vassal had gotten himself and his lone province "overtaken".

When I took it back my reputation sunk, why? I thought it was a good thing to take provinces from the muslims...

2. I do not like getting bad reputation for taking over revolting vassals since it means my other vassals loyalty will decrease when I show my (military) strenght.

Shouldnt they be more inclined to break up with me if I proved to be a weak ruler who couldnt stop vassals from revolting?

3. I would like to know when one of my provinces are being besieged, havent found any option in the message settings for that. (It would really help with problem 1).

I agree with you. I think they should reconsider this issue.
Especially dealing with your own vassals should not have that impact on prestige/badboy values

Did you perhaps do a sneak attack ? (meaning bringing your troops in a province, then declaring war on the owner). These give you a lot of BB points, even if you use them against muslims, and it is easy to do it against the vassals of the guy you're fighting without noticing...

I totally disagree about vassals and bad boy. It is only natural that, when you are dealing heavy handed with your vassals, more of them will become disloyal.

Except historically when a rebellion was put down by a strong lord that was not a trigger for yet more rebellions. I agree with the others that if a rebellion is successfully put down that should decrease the chance of rebellion by others because the Duke/King has shown himself to be strong. The other factors which gave rise to the disloyalty - high scutage, using vassal armies, etc. may bring the rebellion again but successfully dealing with a rebellion itself should not increase the chance of a further rebellion.

What I did was to choose "agree" when my vassals got attacked by the turks, which made me at war with them, the only sad part was that the turks took over my vassal before I noticed they were there, so maybe I got BB points for taking a province that used to belong to a vassal of mine...

Well, I did. When I reloaded after it had happened I looked at one vassals loyalty stats and his "loyalty from reputation" modifyer changed from (I think) -3.5% monthly to -3.7%.

And the only thing I did was "sieging down" the defense of that province.

IMHO they ought to add an option of giving a revolting vassal a second chance. Put him at 50% loyalty, or less, but allow us the chance to put him back where he was to avoid the BB hit for taking his title.

It would be more work, but he could even get a "status" of revolter (cleared if he ever gets a new liege) which caps his loyalty at 75% or something. Double revolter caps at 50%.

I'm not suggesting that there be a super-easy way out of dealing with revolters, but the BB for dealing with revolts (and the revolter deserves BB more than the liege) seems too harsh, espcially when changing laws sets loyalty to zero.

Is this true for orthodox as well? As Novogorod I've done nothing to increase bb and only taken muslim provs, still my bb is slowly climbing. I guess it could be I've done some "sneak attacks" if they increase bb.

Off topic but is it possible to change ones kingdom somehow? I'm currently king of lithuania but I also got the king of rus title and would like to use that one as was my original intention. Alas I claimed lithuania first and it seems to stick.

You don't get any BB for taking muslim lands I think, but I have seen when I play Byzantium, that I get BB when I declare war. At least sometimes. OR maybe I don't always see it because of my high piety. It's not much though.

Ok, the talk about most powerful title beeing applied was 1.00 then. Well, someone know what I need to change in the savegame(and/or other places) to morph into Rus? I did some messing around and changed what I tought would do it, but the game crashes when it's done loading

Maybe a change kingdom option ingame would be possible? At a cost tho I guess. I'm only willing to "cheat" to change primary kingdom now cause my king is of russian culture and would prolly do so irl if he had the claims I do ingame.

Playing Orthodox Georgia I have annexed 2/3 of Muslim Anatolia... Still Honorable reputation...

You should be able to edit that in the save...

Nope, can't give away the first title, tho I'll try swap places for them in the save and see if it works.

It worked fine for my rep as Norway Havard even if I was more agressive, that's' why I'm wondering.

And I'm trying to figure out exactly what I must change and what to leave be in the save, so far I've choosen wrong

Ouch, looks like I have to replace every tag/liege = lith with rus(basically eliminate/replace most/all referances to lith) and maybe other stuff as well, now if I only didn't have like a ton of both :rofl: or is there an easier way?
