and... meh to the other... your C dive is low but you still have 25% of the total space free

1) I can live with the 2400 slowdown if it means the ai is working better, which it seems to be. More calculations for a better ai means a little more lag. Can't get something for nothing.
and since the AI has been confirmed to be offloaded onto other threads, it would seem normal for synchronization to be needed and the has to be a tick for that. especially running at speed 5, it would be nearly impossible to keep everything insync

2) havent seen that, but I turned off a lot of the unnecessary eye candy clutter a long time ago.

What was unbearable in 1.4.2 was the horrible lag from about 1942 onwards and that seems greatly improved.

True, I can handle the 24 over that Ai, AI is a much greater need. However if it can be improved and keep the awesome AI, that would be awesome. When you play USA, there is a lot of 5 speed time until Jan 1942 for example

I like the eye candy, it helps with the immersion so I hope it's a quick patch! Referring to the bug in the sound file or whatever causes the screen stutter over heavy combat areas during panning

I run Hearts of Iron from my E: Drive, steam and everything aswell, and tend to have 40 tabs, a game and a couple other things open all at the same time, it's a mess.

Regardless, this was not uncommon before the update, it remains that the issue occurred after the update and that there has been no similar slowdown in other Paradox titles or the like. I'm not complaining about slow speed, i'm complaining about the DRAMATIC slowdown in 36 as to before the update, it ran by seamlessly at ever 24 hours, now it takes a good bit.

there was a lot of AI improvements added which are offloaded... basically see my other post in reply to meglok. how much delay at the 2300-2400 mark are you seeing?

About one second, but considering a day is about two that's an increase of 50% in time it takes me to get from 36-39 (Rough math)
while I can't speak for the devs on this, from what I've seen this comes down to, do you want an AI that is challenging or do you want a game that fly's at speed 5

Notably having gotten a game in pretty fair, there seems to be virtually no improvement at all in quality anymore, late game -SEEMS- Just as laggy as always. Realize it may be a bias but, I sure don't feel the numbers I saw

Sure that's a fair point, but they should have sold their dev diary on this stuff alot more realistic then, they made it sound like rainbows and sunshine with no trade offs. Assuming it is the case that it's meant to play like this, (I feel like they were to put it most politely)(Edit) , dishonest by means of optimism. Not a fan

And frankly it seems it wasn't just me who go the impression that even with all the improvements the game would run objectively better on all fronts, that is not to say I don't appreciate the improved AI, but I think even Paradox can admit being at fault for perhaps over hyping it abit, assuming the "Issue" is "Intended"

I just saw the AI cut of a rampaging unit that had broken through the front line, bring garrison units in to surround it and reclaim the territory that had been taken but not guarded and snuff out the unit... me personally, I'll take the hit at 2300.

and it may still be that, as tbh not really seeing it on my machine, but I haven't played with sound on since hoi2, so it might also be you are experiencing the glitch the one guy found that seems to be tied to a couple sound files

Well to be fair, Podcat is looking into performance an a hotfix and patch is certainly coming. Until then we can a least be a little patient and see what they can do. Let's see what happens in the next week...

Instead they want to provide a game that can do both and if it can't today they are dedicated to keep working on solutions.

Oh completely agree! Why I go out of my way to mention that I don't actually know if this is the intended performance, still not above it being say a driver issue or whatever. Simply argued a hypothetical
