I may have just lost a war for my primary title 330 years into an 867 iron man because of a malfunctioning drag select.

I had just raised my MAA for the war up to this point, I have much better siege ability than my enemies, and they have a lot more armies, so I was castle racing them. The keep away siege game reached an impasse, there was nothing else for it, I had to fight. I hired all the mercs I could afford, still didn't like the look of it, raised a bunch of levy and marched in with good odds of winning.

Somehow...some ****ing how...the drag select managed to only select the levies, but not the MAA or mercs which were in the same blob. This resulted in my levies marching in without the mercs or MAA and I didn't notice until too late, because who double checks that a drag select actually worked? My levies got their arses kicked, then the Mercs and MAA lost a pitched battle which they absolutely would have won with the levies. Now the momentum of the war is against me. I've called it a night here, and will probably fire this up again in a week.

Seriously though, how do you f*ck up drag selects? The bulk of the levies were even in the same barony as the MAA who didn't get selected, so it's not like I f*cked up the drag select box and didn't select everyone. I love this game, but sometimes I hate this game. F*ck you game and your jenkiness. If this is what causes me to have to tap out of an Ironman game...RRRRRRGGH!

Also, again civil wars are screwed up in this game. How does a civil war between two brothers for the realm title not create 2 factions, 1 of rebels and the other of loyalists? Why do the vassals just let their castles go down and not resist? In the 30 years war did the Bavarians just leave their armies un-raised while the French and Swedes marched through? That's not the history I remember reading, but maybe I read it wrong.

Looks like you managed. How - rest of us don't know, we were not there. I always pause my game at such important moments, because I don't want to mess it up, and it looks like you didn't double check in time.

That is a very good point, and most of us, I feel, would agree.

Me. And you should too, if the situation is important.

Maybe, maybe not. Sometimes we think we did the things right, but did not.
Not double checking (what means you did not put that much attention on this action) and the same time be absolutely sure to have done nothing wrong is... debatable. ;-)

Basically, whenever I issue orders and I have more than a few stacks, I'll issue orders, run the game for 1 day, then pause and re-check each stack. This is my routine as I'll easily run 6-7 stacks at a time and otherwise fail to catch obvious mistakes I made in issuing commands.

Drag select is a little wonky anyway, at least for me it never seems to work right if I drag down and to the right but works every time going up to the left
