I was making a new 1936 campaign trying to see if certain things could be changed that would affect some of the playability issues and possible trigger a different AI and guess what I find!

Yep, there's a "Bad Boy" factor listed for EVERY country. Now the only thing is if I modify the factor what would change on the game?

Hmmmm....

In EU, the BadBoy factor basically determined what other countries thought of you. Generally speaking, the more aggressive a country was the higher it rose, and the higher it rose the more hostile everyone else was towards that country. If you were playing on higher difficulty levels and being really aggressive, thus getting a high BB rating, pretty much every nation on the planet would devote itself to stopping you.

It would be kind of nice if BB was included in the game somehow. Not in place of War Entry or anything, but as a supplement. That way if war entry was sky-rocketing because of, say, Japanese aggression, then the Allies might actually declare war on them, instead of a relatively (and admitedly only temporarily) quiet Germany. The fact that the Allies are constantly declaring war on Germany before it has even done much of anything is annoying.

The BB factor I think is just left over from EU, and has no bearing upon HOI.

no, I think the Badboy has the same function in HOI as it did in EU. Wish Someone could comment on this *hint hint*

If you look at one of the scenario game files (the ones with the .eug extension) you will see that EVERY country has a "bad boy" rating of "0".

Now I'm not sure if that's reset or if something else in the game engine triggers this, but IT'S THERE PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

Now that we know there's a bad boy rating I wonder if we changed Germany to a NEGATIVE number if that would slow the Allies agressive behaviour.

I'm testing this along with several other features in my "The Gathering Storm" scenario (See Mods Page), as well as Bolt's excellent insight on naval production.

BTW Bolt - if you read this I've found a couple of naval construction dates that were wrong with the British and German.

HOPE SOMEONE CAN explain this Bad Boy factor.

BB can also affect posters here. For example, if you were to appear before HoI was out, post fake HoI screenies and flame everybody who doubted they were real your BB would go up very high. A high BB value like that could cause other posters to ingnore or act hostiliy toward you.

Of course, no one with an IQ higher than romm temp would let their BB value get that high!
