Back on track

When HOI IV came out I played the game every day for like 2 months then I quit.
Now the game has been improved with several updates and all and I'm just curious to know but did the game change a lot ? Is the first DLC worth the price ? Should I even get back on track or wait for future updates ?

Please let me know before I jump on the HOI IV train.

if you just play single player: AI is still no match and medium to big frontlines still shuffle units till the end of time.
if you play MP: the dlc forces even more commenwealth coordination but added NF trees for most of those nations. basicaly most of them got downgraded from the op generic NF.
Oh and CAS is op like no tomorrow. most mp groups use mods to nerv them.

If you want to have fun you should restrict yourselve and dont build the best stuff. Also when the ai abandons the most important front aggainst you (for no reason) hold your attack and wait till they fill the front aggain. And dont tagswich to ai germany and look what hes dooing. its cringy at best.

I know that sounds pretty grimm. But i still enjoy my weekly big mp games with 14 to 20+ players.

SP is still very much a work in progress. While there have been improvements since v1.1 and v1.2, they're mostly small and not nearly as dramatic as many would like. In all honesty, I'd likely wait for the next DLC/patch and hope some of the larger issues finally get ironed out.

I think I would wait for the next patch/dlc I know I am, I'm hopping they have fixed Italy marching troops up through Germany to sail them back home via the channel amongst other things. Plus they are working on air in the next patch so hopefully a few fixes there too. God can't wait for the next patch/dlc to get my new campaign going.

For your style of play I would have to say NO.

The game, even with mods, still has many game breaking bugs. The Italian fetish for sailing its army on the French coastal wates, giving the Royal Navy target practice, is but one of the many bugs that make it difficult to play now.
