@Norghal and der_butschi, I would love to hear what you find disagreeable in my post. Would you, please, enlighten me? Do you think that the Third Space species is not a good candidate for one of crises? That would be strange but perhaps you have some good reasons to share with us?

Edit: and now macd21 and Elderotter, really people, don't be so shy...

Edit2: perhaps I will show you how many points of disagreement I could see

- it actually hurts to use the search option... really?
- there are more than 2 threads titled "Babylon 5 mod" here and I've somehow missed them
- it's not fortunate I can live without B5 Hyperspace in Stellaris... Oh, I see... but I'm pretty sure it's fortunate at least for me ;)
- I can't live without it... but I'm pretty sure I can.
- I am not sad about no way of implementing B5 Hyperspace in Stellaris... but I'm pretty sure I am
- there is a way of implementing it without resorting to exe modifications... I would love to learn it (preferably something that could be so amazing as B5 Hyperspace in I've Found Her)
- above 4 but about Third Space
- TS species/crisis

Edit3: So... what's your point people? Is it just an exercise in selfindulgence?
You have no idea how much physical pain that search option is causing every time I use it. :p
So, honest answer: I actually did search for it. Several times. I did see it, my mistake, obviously. So, if your intention is to point me to an already existing thread - well, just tell me! Don't make a fuss of it, don't be condescending, just act like a grown-up, tank you. ;)

I hope that all the ships and races from star wars, star trek, stargate, babylon 5, space 2063, perry rhodan, battlestar galactica, andromeda, firefly, and even some of doctor who will be added by some talented modders. Would be great to play them together within the basegame for the start.

Did i miss a good one?
I might object to your ordering but having space 2063 (there original title is "space: above and beyond", right?) there grants you bonus points! :) Farscape is missing from your list, though.

There are mostly humans in the galaxy, and thus mostly organized in a single evil space empire "the federation" with capitol on earth. And there are freedom fighters who fight against that empire.
Acting is sometimes really good, writing is sometimes bad, sometimes worse, sometimes inspired. Production value is on a shoe string budget, like 70s Doctor Who.
If you like old 70s sf tv shows like "Space 1999", but less weird, you should watch it.

slightly on-topic: I wish you could respond to fallen empires when they first contact you with "Get the hell out of our galaxy!"
As fun as that would be, it's worth remembering that even Sheridan at the end of the Shadow War felt defeating the Vorlons or Shadows (or worse, both) was a "hell no" situation. So you might want to tech up before choosing that option :)

I don't like to leave bad impressions, especially when I don't intend to, so I would simply like to ask you: In what way my direct answer to the Vortex3500's question I quoted is condescending to anyone and you - specifically? Hm... perhaps my memory fails me and it is actually me who has suggested, winking, that you don't act like a grown-up?

In what way my direct answer to the Vortex3500's question I quoted is condescending to anyone and you - specifically?

In my opinion, you did not actually give a direct answer. A direct and polite answer to the question
Has there been any talk in the modding community about doing a Babylon 5 mod or conversation for Stellaris?
would have been something like: "Yes, please take a look here: [link]" or "Yes, please comment in this thread: [link]"

Instead, you chose to answer the question like this:
It doesn't hurt to use the search option - there was even one thread that had its title identical to yours :)
The first part is not a direct (or even indirect) answer but condescending, since you imply (intended or not) that the OP (and indirectly others who answered) did not use the search functionality and what's more, did not use it because they can't be bothered (or something similar). This is supported by the second part of your answer (which at least counts as an indirect answer) that, again intended or not, says "you are either blind or stupid or lazy". Admittedly this second part is mitigated by the smiley.

It actually was no big deal for me at all (hell, I like to be condescending myself, every now and then), but I found it disagreeable and so I, well, disagreed. But you wanted to know the reason, so I gave it to you.

Thanks for your clarification.
I've tried hard to see it your way and I can now agree that my answer might be perceived as condescending... while in prejudiced mindset during reading. I don't know how I've deserved it that you are prejudiced against me. You assume a lot of implications from the simple friendly answer and they are not what I imply in it - they are what you imply being prejudiced. Having such an attitude whatever I say might be taken as condescending or impolite eg. if I say as you propose "Yes, please take a look here: [link]" (and in my opinion it's not more direct answer than mine - it might be more helpful as it might allow to be directed easier, but not more direct; to be more helpful I've just edited the link into it) you might say with prejudice: "You just pretend to be polite while being condescending since you imply (intended or not) that the OP (and indirectly others who answered) are not even able to use the search functionality (or they can't be bothered) and they have to be given the link (it's like saying that they are either blind or stupid or lazy)". As you see it's very easy to find such implications in one's statements when you are prejudiced. I will be grateful if you don't have this attitude in the future and give other people benefit of the doubt. I would also be grateful if you didn't apply double standards: you disagree with me when I seem condescending to you, yet you like to be condescending yourself.

Well, as the OP I'd say that I didn't take PAwleus's comment as considending or rude. On second reading I suppose I can see why someone may feel that way, but I've been around the internet (and life) long enough to understand that directness does not always equate rudeness. PAwleus was simply pointing out that the thread existed elsewhere, and in the process forced me to educate myself on the proper search function in the forum (which, by the way, could be better.)

At any rate, please don't argue about it any longer. Points have been made and rebutted and it's really not a fight worth having. Thank you both of you, though. We are kindred spirits in our love of Babylon 5. While it may not work great as a full game conversion, I agree with one of the previous posters that it'd be fun to have the races in there with portraits and ship designs. I love me a good Narn heavy battle cruiser!

I know there is a Star Trek Modding group and I searched for a Babylon 5 Modding group and there isn't one yet. I am pretty new to the Stellaris community (long time lurker, second time poster :)) and pretty new to modding. If we stated a modding group I would be very interesting in helping. In fact I plan to rewatch the series and do other research to start putting together rough outlines.

I have been keeping up with that discussion, as hard as it is for me to do so thanks to my work schedule and my current time zone. Thanks. I suggested a group because I think it would be easier to coordinate our efforts that way.

I think Stellaris is the 4X game I have been waiting for and I think the Babylon 5 universe would fit in well with it from what I have seen so far. I see nothing but potential.
