Has there been any talk in the modding community about doing a Babylon 5 mod or conversation for Stellaris? I'm not great hand at modding, but I'm curious to know if that's something people of which anyone has expressed interest. I'd love seeing the Centauri, Mimbari, Earth Alliance, Narn, and even the League of Non-Aligned Worlds put into a nice Stellaris stew.

Totally agree in wanting to see something of that nature. There are B5 elements already in the game along with references to a lot of the other groups. Between the wormhole gates that are almost jump gates, the Fallen Empires mechanic that feels like some of the older races aspect.

I was wondering why everyone talks about Warhammer 40k, Star Wars and stuff but no B5! I would totally love to see a B5 mod. I remember those huge Earth Alliance exploration vessels that could be used as science ships. Vorlons = Fallen Empire is obvious (booom - because you are not ready for immortality...). Minbari = advanced AI start? The Shadows could be a late game crisis.

It doesn't hurt to use the search option - there was even one thread that had its title identical to yours :)

As for a B5 mod, it's fortunate I can live without it but I am so sad there apparently is no way of representing B5 Hyperspace or Third Space in Stellaris... The Third Space race is definitely a candidate for a crisis, though.

Edit: It was shown to me that I had not been helpful enough so I provided the link.

To do it right you would need a sort of scripted event structure to pull off the four core years of B5 and really the Shadow War. The Vorlon and the Shadows both work as great Fallen civs with a twist.

Hyperspace might not directly be there but it isn't far off because for the most part with how they have described the wormhole gates. Just lock the whole game down to that and you are going to be reasonably close. There would be a bunch of cool event chains you could do with some of the different plots. Be they with the telepaths, the Shadow war in a Late game scripted thing with some build up based on decisions people made along the way or things like third space or the river of souls. . Would be involved...but doable.

For starters, it would by quite ok to have the different races with their character, ships, etc. (I actually don't like the HoI-system, where many of the WW2-events happen because they are scripted that way. But that's a matter of taste...)

As I said above, I think the Shadows would be better modelled as an end game crises, since they are too active for a Fallen Empire.

By the same note, the Vorlons are way to active to be a true fallen empire in the way the game is presenting them. The rest of the First Ones are really the better Fallen Empire analogues.

And I know what you mean about railroaded events. But having some mean time or percent chance to happen things would be cool. Things like encounter Lorien.

I would already be very happy if "only" b5 models and races were moded in. For almost everything else stellaris is already b5-like enough in order for me to enjoy the c*** out of it

That's a very good point. The models and races would be awesome. Especially if the Shadows and Vorlons could be Fallen Empires. Or even if the Vorlon/Shadow war could be some sort of end game crisis.

Son of a....yeah, I see that now. I thought I had searched but apparently I'm not as thorough as I thought.

I would love a babylon 5 mod, its my all time favourite sci fi series and with some tweaks that others here have mentioned i think Stellaris could be perfect for it

I hope that all the ships and races from star wars, star trek, stargate, babylon 5, space 2063, perry rhodan, battlestar galactica, andromeda, firefly, and even some of doctor who will be added by some talented modders. Would be great to play them together within the basegame for the start.

Did i miss a good one?

@Norghal and der_butschi, I would love to hear what you find disagreeable in my post. Would you, please, enlighten me? Do you think that the Third Space species is not a good candidate for one of crises? That would be strange but perhaps you have some good reasons to share with us?

Edit: and now macd21 and Elderotter, really people, don't be so shy...

Edit2: perhaps I will show you how many points of disagreement I could see

- it actually hurts to use the search option... really?
- there are more than 2 threads titled "Babylon 5 mod" here and I've somehow missed them
- it's not fortunate I can live without B5 Hyperspace in Stellaris... Oh, I see... but I'm pretty sure it's fortunate at least for me ;)
- I can't live without it... but I'm pretty sure I can.
- I am not sad about no way of implementing B5 Hyperspace in Stellaris... but I'm pretty sure I am
- there is a way of implementing it without resorting to exe modifications... I would love to learn it (preferably something that could be so amazing as B5 Hyperspace in I've Found Her)
- above 4 but about Third Space
- TS species/crisis

Edit3: So... what's your point people? Is it just an exercise in selfindulgence?

By the same note, the Vorlons are way to active to be a true fallen empire in the way the game is presenting them. The rest of the First Ones are really the better Fallen Empire analogues.

Are they? The First Ones seem to be often more individuals than empires and what do the Vorlons really? All we saw was Kosh (okay and the one who took his name), who did nothing really as an Ambassador on Babylon 5, the empire itself is forbidden space and their interference was secretly altering genetics of species, so they develope telepath. I would say the Vorlons fit the definition of a Fallen Empire pretty accurate.

The Vorlon though were known to have interfered with the development of the races, seeding in telepaths and taking advantage of some of the local religions for the different races. They might not be fleet active but both them and the Shadows played their game shepherding the races.

Why do you talk about Vorlons as if they are not fleet active? They could be as active as Fallen Empires we saw
