Deliberately cutting off most of the post and claims not to be evasive?

Stay classy. How about you actually bother with the rest of the "didn't end up there by accident"-text. Should help clear that up.

I cut out the part I wasn't responding too, you had other points but I was mostly interested in refuting your claim that I was lying. We're derailing the thread here if you want to PM to continue this that's fine.

Do swedish people play pranks on Halloween? Because that's the only explaination for the Aztec DLC I can think of.

I mean, has anyone ever even asked that question, "What if Aztecs invaded medieval Europe?" It's a total non sequitor. The Aztec's didn't even have ships really. Even if they somehow crossed the Atlantic, 90+% would die of disease. The rest would be fighting knights and such with stone weapons. They had no cavalry, or even the concept of cavalry. AFAIK they also lacked seige weapons or any siege weapons to speak of. You really could not come up with a less threatening foreign invader if you tried.

Really "what if martians invaded medieval europe?" would make a better premise for a scenario.

Maybe the Aztecs in game are martians who just look like the historical Aztecs and use their lightsabers, mechanical horses and ability to walk on water to conquer the world ?

I hope not. Why Aztecs when we need Mongol and Norse focus dlcs, or Church dlcs or Republic dlcs, all much welcome. Would even the feudal system work for Mesoamerica?

Yeah!!! This sucks so bad. I am still waiting for republics, pagans, and a college of cardinals. Then you could consider a fantasy DLC. And when you did, I did not want it to be a crappy one like this. Not that it's terrible, but it doesn't have the same kind of appeal as medieval europe. It has a different feeling to it.

I hope the Aztecs will be playable. This is a pointless joke scenario, and it will be even more pointless if you can't be a part of the joke.

If they aren't playable, then I want PI to pay me $5 for wasting my time reading about it. Otherwise, I just won't buy it. And I'm gonna buy every other (unless they're as stupid as this) DLC, even songs. And I don't even listen to in-game music usually.

EDIT: Since this isn't one of the "major DLCs," I'm not as angry, but I still won't buy it. Not for $5!

They already stated that every event in the DLC are custom made by people that had finished their part of the jobs on the others projects and therefore had some time to spare.

While this DLC is better than wasting their time, this was a pretty bad idea. Should've made a Norse myths DLC. Starring Thor, Loki... (Just kidding about the last sentence)

But they did something fun for them that required minimal resources and should be enjoyable to play. DLC people wants are major projects that require more people than were available.

this sums up about my feeling ont he DLC. who agrees?

I don't. It's a huge leap to go "Okay, they released a fantasy DLC... so if people buy it, then Paradox will instantly decide its the direction they will go in and will start to prioritize fantasy scenario DLC's over everything else." It's the same kind of logic people apply when they say smoking a single marijuana joint will lead to you killing everyone you love and funding terrorism and upgrading to crystal meth.

Yes, it within the realm of plausibility that it could happen. But just because it's a plausible scenario does not mean its an even remotely probable scenario. I'd say the most likely thing that could happen if SI is "wildly successful" is that PI may become motivated to work on something in the similar realm as SI during the free-time (as they apparently did with SI), or when they have absolutely no better ideas of what they could do for DLC content.

Im not one to complain and all, its PI's decision where they wanna take their product and all...

...but think of the man-hours that could be spent on developing the core game...

...I.. I'm dissapointed, I have to admit, I wont bitch, because what good did that ever do, but common...

Edit: Is there word or rumor of any new mechanics with this that can at least open some new doors with modding?

This DLC is not a waste of money. It simply uses models from EU4 and the devs just added some events. Thats all. Why not make something for free that will net thousands of dollars?

They already mentioned that this was put together in their spare time using assets from Europa Universalis IV. It took maybe five or six hours to finish, it didn't take any time out of their major update/DLC schedule, patch 1.08 will be released alongside Sunset Invasion, and there's strong hints the new free patch will contain playable pagans.

This one is not very plausible... The Aztec Empire was a alliance between three city states. This alliance start 1428. So not in the time where the aztecs conquere Europe in this game. And look at this map. The dark red part is the land of the aztecs untill 1440. The have no connection to the sea. And they had never big enough ships for this travel. And... I can found many more points. This DLC isn't plausible it couldn't really happen. I personaly don't like this DLC and wouldn't buy it.

But all the "I want a fucking preposterous DLC!" threads are really annoying. I want that paradox make reasonable DLCs and Expansions. Like Sword of Islam of the Lagcy of Rome. We have so many construction zones! Republics, Navy, Trade, Catholic Church, Pagans etc. And all this people want that paradox waste time to this? One funny DLC is okay... I have no problem with this, I musn't buy it... But that are really to many. And all are the same "X shall conquer Europe!" Ony X is allways another thing cthulhu, Aliens, Zombies. This should be fun? Modders can to this to! This is easily done...

Hey.... This is the idea! I make a zombie cthulhu alien (Yes! The alien cthulhu as zombie!) mod. So all this people have fun and paradox don't need time for this. I need someone who can make the spirites!

Sorry if all this sound very aggressiv... But I'm not very happy about the situation... And the Aztec DLC is not the real problem...

It probably took them all of five minutes to make new localisations for the events and to copy/paste the culture/units from EUIV. Doomdark already said this isn't affecting any release dates or number of releases.

The units and the faces are actually completely new stuff, no copied content, that we did here at PDS. Althoughit's a fantasy-scenario, we're always dedicated to getting the facts right, visually, and to give you guys something completely new in every aspect.

Seeing as we're all super fast, it still took about five minutes ;)

Jokes aside, we're always hard at work here at PDS. THis one was a quick thing we did for the fun of it.
This is just one out of many future updates for CKII, so for those of you who think this one ain't for you, don't worry, the next one might be ;)
