The rise of the Aztec Empire didn't begin until the early 1400's. Is that when the invasion will take place? I wouldn't want the game to become unhistorical because the Aztecs show up before Tenochtitlan was even founded.

Based on the screenshots it looks like it could fire as early as 1200. So yes the Aztecs might invade well before they actually formed historically. Is such a thing even possible? Yes it is.

I was actually asking myself this when i saw the starting date, a mayan invasion would have made much more sense. But hey who cares were getting bloodthirsty demon worshipping americans invading europe and sacrificing all our kings so i guess i cant really complain :p

I dunno man, based on screenshots Southern Europeans are going to look like Zombies.

I wouldn't put much stock in early screenshots.

From what the info they provided indicates, in this timeline the Norse apparently managed to leave behind some of their tech with the proto-Aztecs, who formed a few centuries earlier than normal, spent about 200 years figuring out how to mass produce their captured longboats, and then sailed across the Atlantic to trollolololol France and Britain.

I'm not sure longboats would be good for crossing the mid-Atlantic, although they were evidently good at island hopping to the great white north. I'm fairly certain European armor and weapons are more than a match for the Mezo-American hordes though. Unless they ride into battle on alpacas, in which case all hope is lost.

The invasion sites seem to be Morocco, Portugal and Ireland, so the Aztecs apparently aren't crossing the mid-Atlantic anyway.

And alpaca cavalry is almost undoubtedly the explanation for their early military successes before they start adopting European tech.

The Vikings managed to sail all the way to northern Mexico? Impossible! The pale Vikings would have all died of sunburn. The Paradox developers, of all people, should know this fact.

Just want to put out a few things randomly: First, Egyptian rafts have been used by modern adventurists to cross the Atlantic. Surely something so much more advanced could as well. Second, although this has little to do with the actual DLC, a trinket found in a Nazca site in Peru was a functioning aeroplane when made larger. Assuming that wasn't a hoax or something, possibilities... Thirdly, I do hope they make them more generic. Mayans or some other -tec would be more plausible, if only just. And finally, we must remember that Vanilla Paradox games can have much crazier stuff. I think Mexican Vikings is slightly more plausible then, say, The Bavarian Sultanate -In Peru- and other such things in EU3, or even Fatimid Norrland in CKII.
