I personally find it interesting, as well, that Hitler was overthrown in Germany, and replaced by Himmler.
@alxeu Ah yes, that happened a while after I invaded Berlin, Hitler shot himself and they replaced him with a donkey. 
White Ruthenia STRONK
Here's what happened:
White Ruthenia allied with Russia at some point.
France destroyed Mitteleuropa, minus White Ruthenia of course. France also defeated the Belgrade pact. Netherlands joined France's alliance.
Next, Russia and France goes to war with each other. Russia steamrolls France, but with the exception of Romania and Balticum, they have to pass through White Ruthenia, so they get everything. Balticum, Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria and Greece are Russia's puppets. Bohemia is independent. The rest has been annexed by White Ruthenia, and now they're working on Italy/UoB.
I attacked Hub and NCR early on, got great economy then proceeded to conquer America. My army was abit too big for my economy though

My bet is that he invaded as Germany and then switched to the US
well if yuo really want to have an invasion just leave all the ports empty so they can invade and 1 by 1 transfer troops and let the ai build up

Mechanically? In FODD the way that the wasteland is resettled is by way of rebels and then transfer events to the 'states' that take them over. My guess is that a tag for future development was in place that was given those provinces using the Madagascan tag which then rebelled. Alternatively I could be completely wrong and it is a bug related to something completely different to do with the map maybe.

And Ukraine is just Russia's Austria. Romanians won Odessa fair and square by declaring war on Corn-Man's ousters.
