Haha, i just happen to have almost the exact same game here. After building up my forces in the North, keeping the Japanese in check there, constantly attacking and defending Tianjin and just barely beating them back everytime. This took forever(started in 1936). Eventually i thought i had enough troops to go on the offense at around 1938, but it didn't work. So, for another year i builded up my army(mostly rerouting Yunnan and Guanxi troops from the coasts that i had fully covered) and then on March 21st 1939 my real offensive started:

I tampered with front ratios and max_staging_distance and AI in general, but a combined Airdrop first (into Oslo hinterland with NO backup) and then a Naval landing to relieve pressure, is a nice move.


Scary China, no clue about the history though.


Not only goes already being invaded Philippines on a invading spree, the US also goes for my recently acquired "possessions"

Not entirely sure, tbh. I modified a good bit, but mostly build priorities, and a bit of battlefield priorities, like tampering with with max_front ratio and max staging distance and so on. I do not have the slightest clue on what effects those things have, except by the name, and have no clue on what the numbers there are based on. But whenever i highered the values by a good bit, i got some nice results.
Also the "target" command seems nice, also staging distance and staging province. This especially was nice for edited Japan games, invaded southern pacific islands, invaded Australia and so on.

In this game, i had the UK landing in norway soon after, and approaching narvik. But then germany made 2 landings, near oslo and stavanger i believe, and drove them northwards again. In this game germany has an absurd amount of TPs (didnt change their build priorities until late 1940 or so, only changed difficulty settings like 40% ic and so on).

But those commands does not affect air/paradrop behaviour. Well, the only one which could is the priority value. But as far as I know, the front values are dedicated for ground units, not airforce. How many did you set for Hamar ? Could you send me your save or at least the german values ? :cool:

I've seen similar use of paratroopers in Norway in Compendium mod. AI Germany paradropped in the same province and then assisted landing in the southernmost province.

Removed all research restrictions, altered build priorities, see above post.
Made them able to build nukes and deliver them by their own "will".

I have to look for them. I will search for the Japanese one, those made the greatest success yet. the new one have yet to be battleproven, only 1941, with an early Barbarossa (Romania dowed over Bessarabia, Germany joined in).

I had a look on DAIM, Compemdium etc AI files for Fall Weserübung and the amazing thing is that none of them targets Hamar (the paradrop target in your games, both Gen. Schuermann and Bumpar) as a priority.
So I guess the drop is not due to that value but should be something like "random". Once, Lothos told me that the AI dropped its para when it sees it needs them. Another way to say we can't handle this.
