Dont know if it was cheesy or not but in my last two game i was adapting my game play around the FE awakening.

Game one, crazy great crusade rush to conquer as much as possible before awakening buildning up a bug fleet, the awakening happen just about when all the galaxy is in one fed against me. Become a Signatories to hind behind them from the rest of the galaxy. Colonise all the planets i have in my domain the pump up my fleet limit to the max in peace and quiet, til i rebel, beat my overlord and win the game.

Game two, sneaky conquest rush. No big fleet this time to awaken any of the FE, lots of vessels as not to anger the rest of the galaxy again. Won the game before awakening or crisis. ...?

Is it me are are awakened empires too predictable?

Sense i didnt get any response the first time lets rephrase it. Do FE need more triggers for awakening?

The current two most inportant once are "A default Empire getting too strong (40k/50k/60k Fleet power, respectively in Normal, Hard and Insane difficulties) or has Conquered a Fallen Empire World". Making you ether playing with a < 40k fleet or rushing to knock of the FE you dont want to awaken. Trying a < 40k fleet run right now hoping to trigger a crisis to get the guardian awakening trigger and se how that plays out in comparison to a regular awakening.

By the way, why no unique trigger for each type. Wouldnt make them less predictable but could still be fun. As for general triggers something like 2/3 of empires getting eliminated or and empire controlling 2/3 of all planets. Just to give you something to consider when planning out the long game. Not saying these are balanced number, only using 2/3 as an example.
