I'm 23. Never did military service (most people don't these days with all the cut backs even if it is still officially a mandatory conscription in Sweden). I was both sad and relieved ^^
Probably the closest thing to a female here =P Well not really, I love manly stuff such as guns and ammo, cars and tanks as much as the next guy, I just like fashion, decorating, cute animals and such as well. When I was a kid I played both with toy cars and such and Barbie (although some psychologists say that's just because boys want to see her naked which I can't really deny hehe)
Been playing since HoI2 (although I did try EU2 once a long time ago, but didn't understand it at the time)
Grew up with strategy games such as Command & Conquer and WarCraft rather than the turn based desktop general games most people here probably played. Still I live HoI and Vicky (don't care that much about EU/CK)

I'm 20/ Surprised to see a 61 year old playing a game, much less knowing their way around a computer and internet enough to post like that.

29 here, been playing wargames since Tactics II. The wife gets grumpy with all the old board wargames in the closet, but I refuse to give them up.

No seriously, I'm not outing anyone. If people wants to reveal such personal info, then it should be them who does so. I was just pointing out that you were making a very big generalization. Most people do not share such information, unless theres a need for it. How many american democrats or republicans do you know of here? Does that mean that they are all? Offcourse not, just means they are the ones who have announced their political views in a post you have read. More discreet forumitess may not announce it nearly everyday, but that doesn't mean they are not what they are.

ok ok, i will 'bail u out' Devoncop.. I'm 50 !!!! and i truely love long games like the HOI series. First-person shooter games just dont do a darn thing for me. I think they are geared to just tactical things that young teens should learn before they actually learn real strategy.
Kudos, btw to the young guys who do play HOI... If you do go into the military you should do very well at keeping not only yourselves but also you people alive. Oh and for any one thinking about going into the military.... keeping your troops alive and obtaining your military objectives is how it should be done, NOT the other-way around.
As to the stupidity of the U.S. allowing a young person to give their life for the Country, but not allowing them to 'drink with their mates'.... you can chalk that up to a few things.... Puritanism, where a few power hungry religious folks tell u what to do and the lovely folks at MADD.... yes, it is terrible, the numbers of Americans that die every year on the roads, and yes it's a tragedy that so many young people die on roads after drinking, but maybe if the kids who died for so many years had mothers that were worth listening to instead of being shallow, vane, affair-committing people, maybe, just maybe the kids would have not drove home. I am referring to the past president of MADD who got a 2nd DUI in Cali last year and she, cause either of her being rich or her past position CUT a easy deal with the state and she didnt have to go to jail or do any of the other DUI crap.
why this country keeps wanting to legislate societal change is extremely stupid. it never works... but then i guess they never remember history... prohibition never worked either!!
sorry for getting up on my soap box, but the fact that now u can get killed for u're country before u can legally take a drink is assinine.
I did 16 yrs in the U.S. military and when i was in YOU could serve and drink, but those vain-glorious lovelies over at MADD put a stop to that, so you can thank them for you not being able to have a drink when u're under 21 but able to die for those hippocritical MADD people.
SO every one have a beer (who legally can) for those brave young men and women who aren't 21 yet but who still risk their young lives for America!!!!!!!

I turned 45 on the third. I guess I am surprised to see so many younger players... I had thought strategy was on the way out what with all the gratuitous clickfest titles that saturate the market nowadays.
