50. I been playing wargames since the original Guadacanal Game by Gary Grisby on an Apple IIe. I even watched the movie "Wargames" in the theathers when it first came out. Boy I must be old!

I started with Board Games first; the first game I played was Axis & Allies, followed by Third Reich by Avalon Hill and then every classic WW2 boardgame you could name. SPI's ETO and PTO were good favourites, as well as World In Flames.
Computer strategy games are a great thing if you can't find someone to play. Especially if you want to play at 1am. Something you can't do with board games.
I've had a lot of fun over the past few years playing the Hearts Of Iron series and Paradox games in general and I wish Johan and the team every continued success.

I'm 23 years old btw, and old enough member to have posted in at least a few dozen threads like this.
Well I can not only tell you my age, but also the age of my friends, who play Hearts of Iron two, but aren't members of this forum:
I'm 19. One of my friends is 16, one is 18, three are 19 like me and two are 20.
We do make Hearts of Iron LAN Parties with 4-8 players from time to time (3-4times a year). I wonder if anybody else does this?
I tell you, this is the most fun you can have with HoI as you can play like 18 hours straight with the other "nations" sitting right next to you.
And for the entertainment in the time you wait for something to happen, we have a video projector set up, so we can watch movies while playing.
If you have never done this, and you have the time and other people willing to play with you, you should try this out! (But seeing how much our girlfriends hate us doing this, I can only imagine how this must be with a wife....)

We live in Southern Germany. I discovered Hearts of Iron three years ago and could win those friends of mine for the game too. We hang out all the time but not for playing games, we only do this every once in a while.
But I always thought, that there aren't that much Hearts of Iron LAN-Teams, if one likes to call it like that.

that's to far away.... a shame, cause i really liked to join your group..... Well who know's, perhaps HOI3 will be easier to play online...
