Because you can close the game without saving with good old ctrl+alt+del and erase that bad war you startedAnd why not just save the game when I quit it, besides the auto saves. It is really annoying that every time I press a button the game saves.

You say that now... until your game crashes just before a really lucky thing happens for you (e.g. you inheriting another nation) and your last autosave was before it happens. Frequent saves have their ups and downs. However it seems to me that the monthly autosave is too frequent.
The entire point is at saves at each decision so you can't quit out and return to an earlier save when something goes wrong. If you don't want that, why not just play in non-ironman mode and save whenever you like?

People are generally supportive of the saving at each decision. But if we fast forward for a span of, say, six months or so without making ANY decisions (just letting time run), it would be nice not to have the flow of time interrupted six times.
You could replace the monthly autosaves with a "Save on Quit" feature so that if by some stroke of genius a player finds a way to exploit the lack of monthly autosaves, he still can't exit and go back to the last decision.
Problem is, 33% of my time in Ironman mode is spent watching the screen laggin 'Autosaving'... combined with monthly lag whenever month changes.

I love the concept of Iron Man mode, but one could argue that some decisions and events just really don't need auto-saving. For example, when you win battles or deny another nation military access. And I don't think the monthly auto-saves are needed either, there will be enough save games without them. The entire point is at saves at each decision so you can't quit out and return to an earlier save when something goes wrong.
