Here's a list of automations that I'd like to see in future patches.

- "do not stop drilling in case of war" checkbox
- missionary automation, with focus (religion, region or conversion speed)
- "automatically assign state religion provinces to trade companies" checkbox on trade region tab
- "find province" popup automatically pausing the game in single-player
- improve relations automation sending diplomats to lowest relation countries first
- improve subject relations automation stopping at 220 total relation value, instead of going into 300s.
- a shortcut key combo to conform army/navy to standard. for example U+1 to conform to template 1.
- ability to upgrade army templates (with respect to increased combat width)
- fragment army keyboard shortcut that fragments selected army into 2-size stacks for carpet siege
- disabling on-map unit selection in the war tab (not really automation, but still...)
- assign regions of operation to allies and subjects instead of having it at province level

EDIT:
- automatically add a number to template name when creating new templates (Standard army 2, army 3, navy 2 etc).
My current names for armies are:
Standardarmy
Standardarmyasd
Standardarmyasdfff
Standardarmyasdffff
etc.

You can easily get lots of colonial nations (who often end up getting loans). If you get them by knocking out other colonizers, it can mean more than one per colonial region.

10-20 subjects isn't even that rare, and clicking through the list to see who has debts I can pay for easy LD reduction is bit of a chore.

A popup that shows up when your missionary's strength goes below 0% in a province. Not an automatic revoke, because you can always boost stability/enforce religious unity/etc., but more than a few times I've left a missionary just sitting in a province doing nothing but causing unrest because I forgot about an event or lost mysticism as Muslim.

I'd like to remove automatically renewing a loan if an old one expires and I don't have the money in treasury to pay it off. Usually I'd rather have the pop up "loan of x amount has expired, pay it back?" and be able to take out a new loan of x+y amount instead of renewal.

I'd like the ability to detach damaged regiments to send them home. e.g. after a shift-consolidiate of an army after a battle while your sieging a fort, you want to retreat a few 0-troop regiments back to friendly territory so they'll recover.

I'd like the disaster notification to flash incredibly obviously if a disaster is at over 80% progress. Unrest notification too.

I'd like the rebel factions in the outliner sorted somehow. Either by absolute progress or by estimated # of years till a revolt happens would work.

Some way to notify the player that their spy network is at sufficient strength to fabricate a claim would be nice. I'm unsure of how it could work, maybe on the outliner where it say "xx.xx Build Spy Network" you can have the text in green if it's enough? It's otherwise very hard to keep track of since the level of spy network-ing needed changes on a per-tag basis.

Shift-click the detach siege button to leave the general in command of the sieging army, not the army you're pulling off the siege.

fragment army keyboard shortcut that fragments selected army into 2-size stacks for carpet siege
Draw a box and select an army. Press S to split it in half. Draw a box again to select both armies, and repeat until the whole army is split into 1 stacks.
Then, with all units selected, right click a province you want to carpet siege. Then press V (to deselect the first army in the list), then press another province. Repeat until you have units headed to every province. Unpause and watch the beauty.

If you want 2 stacks instead just click each province two times.

- "do not stop drilling in case of war" checkbox

Currently drilling is simply impossible in case of war. It's not like fort maintenance, where enabling or disabling are both valid choices by design. Drilling was not designed to be available during a war.

Though we could have a "resume drilling after war" checkbox.

You are mistaken. You can drill while at war.

I wouldn't if I were you unless it is a highly localized event against a far inferior foe, because the AI will drop everything and run an a mad sprint in the direction of your low moral troops, even through 90 layers of fog of war.

Yes, units can be drilled during war, and no, I would not want them to stop automatically. I don't want to stop drilling in Spain just because I accepted a CTA from Russia attacking Kazan. My drilling is my business. Activating forts is my business If I want it to be. Paradox proved my point by putting the checkbox in for forts.

Draw a box and select an army. Press S to split it in half.

I'm aware, and I'm using this. But the point is automation. What you describe is a process as tedious as manually deactivating forts during war. We have various buttons for automation: detach damaged ships, detach siege, split in half etc. and now the new "conform to template". The interface should evolve in the direction players are using the interface, not only the developers "envision" it should work. And they are doing a good job, I'm just pointing out some lacking features.

Oh and i added a new entry into the OP, almost forgot.

Add provinces to HRE one click/all and just as important, have war leader occupy provinces check box. Being at war with an ally, then having to click 20 provinces and change occupier is tedious :)

I would love the missionary automation.
Obviously I understand the benefit of the trade company button, but as trade companies are designed to ignore religion, I don't think they'll do it.
DDRJake said in one his streams that he wants to add a split all button as it's something he does so often for carpet sieges.

Automatically chase down selected enemy armies.

I don't know how many times I told my troops to go where some rebels/lone enemy armies once were, and they were all but gone by the time my army arrived.
