When prioritizing e.g. production and reinforcements, the AI tends to keep the amount of supplies around 2000 (DD-scenario, USA), and they quickly run out when giving offensive supply to a few units. Is there a way to make the AI maintain a larger stockpile of supplies?

You mean the AI that governs the slider?

Just don't produce that much, and it will divert production to supplies. It tries to keep your supplies production at a net 0, but if you prioritize your other sliders and over produce it will divert production that way thus lowering your supply resourses.

I had the slider-AI prioritize production (and reinforcements) as I said, with a lot of IC to go around. Still the AI seems to mostly produce supplies just the needed amount to keep the stock at around 2000. It kept upgrading too much. What I'm saying is that it should maintain a larger supply stockpile when it can.

Weird behaviour

Although quite interesting in potential i have now twice burned myself on this feature. A behaviour described as below was experienced both times.

I had several serial runs going when i activated the automatic sliders with prioritization of production.

Later i noticed that a synchronized run of 4 AA was no longer synchronized, and every productionrun below the bottommost AA gun had lost its gearing bonus.

Experience seems to suggest: Don't use it for the production. Just lock that slider and allow it to run the other sliders.

Never experienced the loss of gearing bonus effect, maybe an event changed some inner policies?

For the supplies I agree, though i like the automatic system i would like to be able to priorice supplies until a certain stockpile has been reached.
eg i prio supplies for 10000 and that auto option will produce of surplus until it reaches 10000, including other prioroties would lessen the amount of daily surplus generated

One more thing about the sliders. The manual says that you can manually lock a slider, and when you turn on the automatic control after this, the locked slider should stay where you've set it. Doesn't work for me, at least not for the supply slider. It changes even if I've locked it manually. Did I not understand something or is it supposed to do that?

Can you be sure that is not the result of enemy spying activity?

yes i have noticed that too, makes the whole 'locking' a bit pointless ^^

Guess you have to move all serial runs upward (top-priority). If a serial run is under-supplied only once (happens, when the AI has to produce money and supplies), you lose all gearing benefits.

Indeed.
However considering that "production" was the priority it should not have been a problem.

Now i should check whether IC production really does benefit from gearing bonus. The mouse over help text says so, but i have my suspicions. It doesn't really seeem to be the case.

Some texts do say that IC production is not subject to gearing bonus, but the ingame text suggests differently.
