Ever since the introduction of frigates and torpedoes, the automated dreadnought has went from being an amazing tanking ship in any fleet, to frigate bait. Its size modifier to torpedo damage, coupled with its over reliance on shields means that it no longer can soak up anywhere near as much damage as it could before. As of right now it is NOT worth the 50,000 engineering research needed to repair it, especially not at the point in the game where you should be able to kill it.
couple all of this with the fact that it is SIGNIFICANTLY slower than even titans, so having it in a fleet is and has always been a trade off in and of itself, a trade off that is no longer anywhere near worth it, seeing as its main purpose in a fleet was to act as a tank to soak up damage, but now it can't even do that!
All it needs is some change to make it more survivable against torpedoes, like a built in module that stops torpedo penetration of it's shields, maybe changing its size modifier in terms of torpedo damage, or really anything that stops it from getting oneshot by frigates.
It was a really good ship to pick up in earlier versions of the game, and fit a very solid niche in any fleet you put it in, and for a titan reward it was really very good, but now I feel as if it's not worth the 50,000 engineering research required to repair it, top it all off with it being a leviathan reward, I just think it deserves better.
