The 12. SS Panzer have 20mm guns on a few vehicles. I believe all of these can fire one the move, except the BEF Panzer II C (why can't that fire on the move?).

These have a high RoF and an AP large enough to kill anything but tanks. They're able to supress AT guns pretty quick, and the only thing that really gets them is unsighted infantry AT and tanks. They'll even take light tanks if you can get close enough. Even better, they can shoot at planes!

It can be really rather powerful to fast move these bad boys down roads, especially against divisions that are forced to pay for expensive vehicles on almost everything they buy. They cost a lot more to counter than they do to bring on and cut soft-vehicles to pieces. The fact they seem to be effective while moving means they can overrun a position very easily. Maybe this effectiveness is just supression, but that'll do while you close down the position.

The road on the non-river side of the factory in Colombelles is a good road to charge down. Add a command vehicle for extra awesomeness. The seaward side of Ponte du Hoc 1v1 is also great. Much better against the US 3rd Armored than against Scots.

Are they too cheap? Are they too effective on the move? I'm still undecided but leaning toward "yes", but I thought I'd solicit the opinions of you lovely forum folk and bring them to the attention of anybody who hasn't found them yet.

And you can combine them with the nifty Sdkfz with a 75mm gun, with the wheeled command vehicle, with some transport or flak sdkfz if you want to have some variety.
What makes them for me non threatening as a phase A rush strategy is the lack of wheeled (or HT) recon for the 12. This mean that either you have to go blind (and get side shots) or bring several inf recon that you'll drop at regular intervals along your progression, which is kinda subpar. They are powerful on the move, but also blind.
That said, a Sdkfz rush possibility needs to be tested thoroughly indeed.

This is how the 12.SS and soon to come PzLehr get back in the game vs. 20 point vet infantry supported by leaders. It's their support vehicles that keeps the hordes of allied rifles on their toes. I've found that Stuarts are excellent at putting the fear of god in 20mm half-tracks, and they're small and maneuverable enough to check almost every area that 20mms can access.

Halftracks are the name of the game currently. They might as well be the most powerful unit type in phase A EASILY just going by the impact they cause in the game.

20mm are a counter to halftracks and 20mms are a selling point of 12 ss alongside those BEF panthers.

If everything else cant shoot on the move, then probably these 20 mms too shouldnt.
