When the Soviets attack the Axis and head west they seem to automatically puppet nations they conquer (ie. Hungary, Poland, Romania etc...) anything we can do about that if we would prefer to annex them?
eclare war on the allies and add war goals as needed (btw conquer+inst. communism will kill the GIE chance).
So tell me how on earth do you want to conquer an allied Poland instead of puppeting if you are not at war with them?? Being at war with the Allies and the Axis at the same time is gamey?? And yes my advice solves the problem, I have been there and done that.Im not sure how that solves any of my issues. For one thing i dont want to go to war with the Allies at the same time as the Axis, not out of fear but it just wouldnt be realistic and it would be gamey. Secondly by the time I go to war with Germany Poland is already gone and Vichy France is formed.
What there needs to be in the next version is simply a wargoal conquer for both and not an auto puppet for Poland and a limited choice for Vichy France.
I know but It seems something went wrong in your particular game because IIRC the last time I played as the Soviets Poland was an allied GIE so I declared war on the Allies before taking Warsaw with the sole purpose of not puppeting Poland (I ended up occupying them until all majors in the faction were dead); I also added the conquer war goal followed by install communism to everyone I wanted to annex (the result was outright annexation). I think this can be seen in this episode but I am not sure if this is the one.Barros!!!!!!!!!!!
Im talking post Barbarossa. Germany and the Soviets have divided Poland, for all game purposes they cease to exist. When Germany launches Barbarossa as the Soviets you can fire wargoals on everyone except for Poland as they do not show up in the list of Axis members. So when you re-conquer all of Poland you arent given any options, you simply get the message they have been puppeted. I think we should either get an automatic annexation, whereby we can puppet them later OR a decision asking us to annex or puppet. And Vich France the wargoals are Puppet or Free essentially, no wargoal to conquer. I think it makes sense for us to have that ability as well.
Why would Poland show up in the list of Axis members, if they are in the Allies? You are not re-conquering Poland (since you are not at war with them in the first place), but liberating them.Im talking post Barbarossa. Vichy France is hard-coded not to be conquered
