not sure if this has been said but i noticed it the other day....they need to stop trying to go to the port you built them in while at war...they need to just build in the provinces and stay there until war is over. noticed this yesterday when i built 20 trade ships and was declared on...the Ottomans just sat in one sea tile and pick them off 1 by 1. this just doesnt make any sense to me.

the same can happen with every ship...i was just stating what happened.
Autotransport function :) You can now order a unit to go to a province unobtainable by land, and they will automatically (after a pop-up notification) transported by available navy (the navy has to have "autotransport" enabled, at default it is)

i think you guys are missing my point...when you use the template to autobuild say 10 ships, when they start building they automatically build and travel to the province you clicked to build them in. what i am saying is they need to NOT automatically go to said province if you are at war.

Use template at peace or when you have stronger navy. Use default builder (province by province) when some1 is blockading you. Problem solved.
that is a wonderful suggestion...too bad i built them at peace and was then declared on...nothing i could really do to cancel all other than micro manage each one to stop them from moving or building. that is what i am saying. they need to not come out of port if you are at war. thats all.

I think your complaint is very valid and the reason that I want them to be there might be selfish, but I really think that that if they had made "autobuild" too useful and handy to use, the little amount of micromanaging required in peacetimes goes away. It kinda is frustrating to be in your position, but I believe this templates are a wonderful addition to the game because they really add to the game, not take away anything that would have made the game exciting. This is just my opinion though, I am looking forward to the other replies in the thread.

I use the template in or out of war and feel that this change would inconvenience me and force me to micro my ships together after they build.

That being said, often times it is hard to maintain total naval dominance, so I support this change.

oh, i love the change as well...and i totally understand the micromanaging aspect you are talking about, what im saying is, war = stop auto moving 1 unit at a time to province...once the was is over = go right ahead and start moving to said province. its just a recognition that there is a fleet of, oh i dont know 40 galleys in the next sea tile, dont try to sail through it with 1 unit. haha
