So I recently played a game as Sweden, and everything was going great, strong industry, army, Scandanavia formed, the works.. Then I got in a pickle when I tried to build more ironclads during a large war, I had never built up any steamer shipyards and had imported them instead, because of the war though there were none availible.

It was actually a pretty enjoyable experience, very realistic! Has this ever happened to any of you?

I was playing as Germany in vanilla, and it took about a year for some tanks I ordered to have all their materials accumulated.

Happens regularly, as the AI never maxes out their potential troop and ship building..so when I begin to expand armies and navies..theres a massive lack of certain things.

I definitely like that it's an organic feature that arises naturally through the game mechanics, instead of being some arbitrary thing.

A good strategy is to manually set large stockpiles for useful strategic goods. That way you can fill up on them whilst times are good, and spend them when you need them.
