Apparently, Swiss Confederation took the Habsburg Castle as recently as 1415. Also, many counties remained in Habsburg hand long after that. It would make sense to add Austrian cores to those provinces.

We have updated our Community Code of Conduct. Please read through the new rules for the forum that are an integral part of Paradox Interactive’s User Agreement.
That will only cause Austria to stomp all over the Swiss. The game can't really represent the Swiss power properly, and AIs will devote a lot of effort to retaking cores.

Not only that but i believe that austria also controlled the thurgau in switzerland.

Nevermind, turns out there's a mission that gives permanent claim on Switzerland early on in the game. Just thst it's very, very low in the tree, so I totally missed it for 100 years.

Thurgau looks like that Konstanz province, judging by its position.

Its technically in the st gallen province. But konstanz is enlarged a bit from reality.
