Just a little info about the author, I am a Black, 15 year old high
school student, live in Florida, got about 2 weeks left of school,
looking forward to summer, and alot of relaxing, specially with EU.
I realized that there were too many wars going on and taking me away
from the main focus of the Empire and it's war, so i decided to focus
more on my wars and less on others. This is just the first 2 and a half years of a LONG continous Austrian AAR, if you Like it, then give
me feedback, dont just read it, lemme know what you think, and remember, its my first time (;. Enjoy

Austria-The Emperor's Might

Stats-This is an IGC Game, I've used the leader editor to add many leaders, admirals, vice admirals,
generals and lieutenant generals to the already impressive roster. I also upgraded the prussian and
Teutonic Order leaders, so they have many special captains and generals as well. I didnt mess with the
monarch logs. The Order controls Inglermand and the COT of Novorgord is in Moscow. All major nations start with a
stability of 2. The Army Numbers are rounded out, so there will be plenty of 8,000 or
9,000 infantry that i record, rather than saying 8,230 or 8,890, you see? Enjoy

January 1,1492
The Lord Admiral Maroon(created), Vice Admiral Pason(created), and a standard Admiral(Posen) await
orders with my fleet of 4 warships in Flandres. General Barbon(created) and Lieutenant General Earl(created),
await orders in the capital of Austria. I, the Foreign Chamberlain of the Austrian Historybooks and Chief Vice Minister
(catchy title eh?) will record the events of the Holy Roman Empire from 1492 to 1792!!

January 5, 1492
The Saxons, a member of the Holy Roman Empire quickly arrange a royal marriage with us, I am pleased with their
loyalty and may include them in a future alliance. We invite the Hungarians to enter a military alliance with
the Bohemians and ourselves.

February 29, 1492
All is quiet, The Emperor orders me to raise 3000 infantry in Flandres, which I do with
haste. On a side note, Granda is annexed by the Spanish, as If we give a damn.

March 29, 1492
Another silent month, just adjusted the economy and raised 1000 infantry in Austria, where
the Imperial Guard is stationed. I have many schemes in mind for these first few years.

April 9, 1492
REJOICE!!! Lorraine has entered a marriage with the Empire, Hahahahaha, I see a deadly alliance
on the Horizons.

June 7, 1492
The Emperor has ordered the Lord Admiral(Has explorer status as well) to investigate the unknown
western seas, He ships off with haste, and we are eager to hear from him.

July 18, 1492
Bastards!! Lorraine would run off and get into an alliance with the French, pshh, it matters
not, I have secured a royal marriage with Savoy,The Emperor will NOT be outfoxed!!

August 13, 1492
No trouble on the horizon so far, I have received word from the Emperor, and under his command,
the fortress in austria is being expanded to a small size.

October 29, 1492
The Lord Admiral and the fleet, well, the 4 warships have yet to return, this makes me nervous,
I hope they come back soon, for all our sakes. Raised 8,000 infantry in Flandres, also arranged
a Royal Marriage with the Teutonic Order. Ha! There are some of Austria's finest colonels and
noblewomen romping around bed in Europe, while I slave for the Emperor!!!! They owe their happiness
to the Emperor and myself, they'd better not forget it. On a side note, the Teutonic order
and the Livionian Knights are a formidable nation, easily rivaling Pskov in power, if not for
the Russians, they could possibly be engaged in war with them very soon. The Prussians are
friends with the Order, so If nothing else, an alliance with the Order will erase any
foolish ideas of a possible assault on the empire.

November 1, 1492
Maroon has given word that his expedition is returning, they ended up in a open ocean, The
Irish Sea, I think they said it was. We must build sturdier and faster ships to ever make
it to the Unkown seas of the west.

December 22, 1492
Maroon's Expedition has been sighted off the coasts of France, they will be with us shortly,
I can hardly wait to learn of their exploits. Trade is fierce in Flandres, it will be
difficult to control the trade there, but luckily, it is not my job, that falls to the
Chief Treasurer of State and Country.

January 1, 1493
Brigadier General Pose(created) awaits the Emperor's orders in Flandres. Lord Maroon is almost
home, I can hardly wait for his debriefing and the praise the Emperor will bestow upon me.
I've ordered the shipwrights in Flandres in to construct another warship, in case the fleet
has taken lossess due to attrition, if we dont get these damn ships moving, we'll never see
the shores past our own lands. I have ordered the pikes and swords of the Imperial Guard to
be shined, when Lord Maroon returns, we must look our best when we greet him.

February 6, 1493
............Insanity.....Chaos.......Terror........The Nation of France has declared war
upon Spain!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Papal States under the Command of Pope Alexander VI and his General
D' Este have joined France against the Spanish and their Supreme Commander El Grande Capitan.
HERALD!!!! Terrible News has arrived......Savoy, Poland, and Brittany have joined the coalition
against the Spanish!!! This is terrible news indeed, most likely stemming from the annexation
of Granda by the Spanish....there is a fear of Spanish Dominance in the world....Lord
Giovanni of Milan has thrown in his chips with the french, which may cost him greatly.
Austrian Border scouts will update us on the events of the war. (This means I will have the
fog of war off for the time being).

February 17, 1493
As Europe Prepares for war, There is some uplifting news, Lord Maroon has returned from the
expedition, he has told us of a vast ocean, called the irish sea, but he will need better
equipment, a larger fleet, and a more supplies for a voyage beyond these seas. The Emperor,
Lord Maximillian was very pleased and has ordered Lord Maroon and crew to rest for a few days
before a new voyage will begin.

February 21, 1493
10,000 men from Milan and 10,000 men from Savoy engage each other in the Capital of Milan,
the battle has just begun, and its uncertain who will triumph in the engagement.

March 7, 1493
The General Ludvico Sforza must be a genius. The army from Savoy was completley annihilated,
and the army of Milan stands at a impressive 8,241 men. Quite a impressive defense, i must say.

March 22, 1493
El Gran Capitan and 33,000 men have assaulted the lands of Bearn, controlled by France, who knows how long the fortress
will hold out, meanwhile, men from lorraine and Brittany march......to Milan.

April 10, 1493
The Emperor is furious, the bastards from Russia rejected our marriage proposal....this inso
lence will not be forgotten!!!

April 13, 1493
Turkey declares war on the Mamelukes, no allies involved......I hope they slaughter each other.
I fear Lord Ludvico will not be able to hold out much Longer, 17,000 men from Savoy have attacked
Milan, and 15,000 combined soldiers of Lorraine and Brittany march towards Milan. Even if
Ludvico could push back all of these men.....the french are only a few provinces away with
an army of 51,000 under the command of General Foix, God Rest Ludvico's soul, he died well
at least.

April 19, 1493
Ludvico has managed to push back the Savoian Army, I gotta give him props, he's holding out strong.
I have to begin preparations for war as well.....Lord Maximillian requests a victory against
enemies of the Empire, and as we have none at the moment...i think it might be time to ruffle
some feathers.

May 5, 1493
Lord Foix has triumphed, as I predicted and routed the army of Milan. Before Ludvico's defeat
he had marched into the lands of Savoie and attempted to occupy the city, but Foix foiled that
plot. Meanwhile, in the west, Bearn has fallen into Spanish hands and the Spanish have
defeated a French army that attacked Roussilon.

May 22, 1493
Ludvico is dead, Foix has a initiated a siege in Milan, and I fear that the city will not
hold long.

June 1, 1493
El Gran Capitan of Spain has kicked all types of French ass, while Lord Foix in the east conducts
the siege of Milan. I have decided to kick back and observe this war, and have convinced the
emperor not to commit any troops to the field until the appropriate time.

June 5, 1493
Men from France and Lorraine still have not been able to crack the defenses of Milan. They
sure are pitiful.....defeated a great general with at least 5x his troops and then they
fail to even capture a small fortress after a assault with 50,000 men....i pray that
El gran Capitan cuts Foix's head off and puts it on display for all, i HATE the french. I stumbled
upon an interesting bit of news....when France declared war against Spain, the English, who
were an ally to spain, refused to honor the alliance.....traitorus bastards......when this
war ends...i might think to enter Spain into the grand Alliance of the Empire....they would
be excellent allies....still....it troubles me to have so much Catholic Blood spilled on
our lands.....as long as the Empire is not threatened, I cannot lend any aid to Spain, but
The Emperor has advised me to raise an additional 10,000 men in the coming months....

June 23, 1493
El Gran Capitan has initated a siege in the french town of Guyenne, and he may very well succeed....
I pray that Milan is able to hold out long enough to be spared a french annexation as a result
of this war......

July 4, 1493
Just to spite the French, I quickly arranged a royal marriage with Spain. Foix has failed another
assault against Milan, and France, Savoy, and Lorraine are all in position, with Brittany close
behind. REJOICE!!!! Ludvico has been sighted leading his army away from Savoie and a defeat
at the hands of Brittany....problem is, it seems he is headed to Milan.....damn, just when
I thought he had escaped the clutches of death.

July 22, 1493
Ludvico has escaped to Genoa, the Vassal of Milan with only 500 men left alive, he should be
safe there, meanwhile, the french and spanish are fighting a battle in Langeudoc and the outcome is
uncertain....DAMMIT!!! Austria must enter into a war soon, to expand the emperor's might and
to harm the bastards who would disrupt the peaceful harmony of the Catholic Nation. On a side
note, the Pope's men havent been seen on the battlefield since the war began and they havent
made any moves to leave for battle.....interesting.

August 3, 1493
The Spanish have beaten the french in Langeudoc, and they are in flight. The siege in Milan continues
and the Emperor is preparing to start a war.

September 3, 1493
El gran Capitan has taken another french town, and Milan is still standing, although it has
been looted...I think this war is coming to a close.

September 16, 1493
Disaster.......Milan has fallen, and has been annexed by France.....I think the bastards need to be taught a lesson..
I will ally with Spain if I can, but Austria is not prepared for a war yet.

Septemeber 24, 1493
A Victory in Dauphine for the Spanish, the French General Foix is heading west, to meet up
with El gran Capitan I suppose.....I hope Foix is completley routed and his head severed from
his body. Spanish victory in the waters of Cote D' Argent, 3 ships against the 4 of the french and
they were still defeated.....I love it.

September 27, 1493
The Knights declare war upon Brittany, Brittany's allies, the French, Savoy, and the Pope honor the
alliance, but Lorraine does not. Moderna and Genoa have joined the Knights in their war. Honestly
The Knights are too far away to have any impact on the war in my opinion.

October 3, 1493
Denmark has declared war on the Teutonic Order, the Prussians have sided with the Order. I'll be damned, never thought
I'd see that happen. Catholics really dont have much of a united feeling do they? The Holy
Roman Emperor will rectify that problem. Sibir has declared war upon the Uzbeks.....A global war
is coming on.....

October 11, 1493
Lorraine has joined the miltary alliance with The Emperor, Hungary, and Bohemia, thank god they
got themselves out of that alliance with the french, because i have made plans for an invasion
of Bavaria, which will commence in March 1, 1493....The Emperor can hardly wait.

(On a side Note, I'll be damnded, but I cant provide play by play for these other wars any
more, so I'll continue until the Spanish French war is over, but then, i'll only report
on my own wars, but i will give information on the outcome of wars between the other nations.)

November 1, 1493
Our new warship in Flandres has been prepared....we seriously need advancements in miltary
and naval technology to compete with the opponents of the emperor.

Novemeber 2, 1493
Teutonic Order declares war upon Genoa.....The Good Lord only knows what they are smoking,
considering they havent even begun to scratch Denmark, why oh why would they declare war on
Genoa!!!!!! Fellow Catholics for one matter, and for another, They are ALL the way across
Europe.....i believe the Livionian Knights Lord Tieffen is insane, but England and Prussia must
not, because they have honored their alliance....lets see what becomes of this mess.

Decemer 1, 1493
Genoa pays france 156 ducats in indemenities to escape their war, and our scientists have
discovered how to create artillery cannons, which will help us greatly in sieges against
enemy cities. I will raise 50 cannons and prepare for the war against Bavaria, hoping to meet
my March deadline.

January 18,1493
Saxony has joined the Military Alliance of the Emperor, alongside Hungary, Bohemia, and Lorraine,
The Alliance of Fire has been created....it is time.....I wont have the 50 extra cannons by
March, but Im going to go along with what we have.

January 20, 1494
France and its allies have sieged Moderna.....It will fall shortly, the Emperor tires of my
constant examination of other nations wars and he scrutinizes me, telling me to focus on our
own conflicts. I have 206 ducats which to work with......its time to raise hell.

February 21, 1494
General Barbon, Supreme Commander of the Emperor's Armed Forces has marches to Salzburg, leaving
Lieutenant General Earl in Command of 16,000 cavalry of the Imperial Guard, to defend the
Capital and its Small fortress. I am about to drop the Bomb on Bavaria.

April 1, 1494
1 month over the deadline, I have declared war on Bavaria. Bohemia, Saxony, Hungary, and Lor
raine have joined me in my war, and Bavaria has no allies.....I see a swift victory in the
near future for the Emperor. General Barbon is on the move, to attack Ansbach, while
Lietenaunt General Earl is moving with his 16,000 cavalry to defend the province of Tyrol. The
Emperor's Allies are on the move.

May 8, 1494
Under General Barbon, 30,000 infantry have sieged Ansbach, with 20 cannons, I have almost completed
the 50 extra cannons to be sent to ansbach ASAP. General Earl has stopped on his move to
tyrol, so that he can wait for the reinforcements from our allies, as an all cavalry force
should have some infantry to back it up.

May 24, 1494
Tyrol is Under siege by Bavarians, 24,000 infantry, 11,000 cavalry and 10 cannons. I am not
worried, and the emperor knows that Tyrol will not fall to the enemy forces.

June 4, 1494
43,000 men march from Hungary to Ansbach, where my Imperial Guard under General Barbon have
initiated a siege, the 50 cannons will be completed shortly and moved as quickly as possible
to the city to aid in the siege. The siege force now inclues about 60,000 infantry, 15,000
cavalry and the 20 guns of the Emperor.

July 17, 1494
The extra cannons have arrived, the siege force at Ansbach has increased to 70,000 infantry
40,000 cavalry and 70 cannons. The city is waning, and the siege is as good as done, mean
while, Bavaria has yet to hurt the garrison at Tyrol, they have dropped down to 15,000
infantry, 9,000 cavalry, and only 10 cannons. Attrition is a bitch.

July 19, 1494
The French and their Allies have completely devastated Modena, they have been forced to pay
241 ducats in indeminities.

July 22, 1494
The Emperor has told me to order General Barbon to assault Ansbach.....Let us hope that our
combined might will bring it down.

July 27, 1494
SUCCEESSSSS!!!!!! war..... chaos......shame......death......chivalry.....all parts of war
and life, love and hate, there is no good or evil, black or white, only shades of grey....
The Bavarian Province and City belong to the empire now......and it is time to march on
Bavaria itself......godspeed General Barbon.

July 28, 1494
A herald from Bavaria, offering a white peace......Bastards are fools to try and buy off the
Empire, The request was declined.

August 10, 1494
Our scouts report that Barbon is marching on Bavaria, the Combined forces of the Alliance have
105,000 men, attrition is rampant, but they push forward and push on, to take Bavaria down.
We also entered a royal marriage with Navarra on this day.

September 1, 1494

The Allied Forces have reached bavaria and to avoid massive attrition launch an assault on
the first day of the Siege, Bavaria quickly falls.....Swords slash, Pikes impale, arrows whiz,
Knights sever heads and cannons split in half......The entire Garrison is slaughtered, Bavaria
is defeated, Tyrol has barely been scratched, the Bavarian army has shrunk to 9,000 infantry,
8,000 cavalry, and 10 cannons. The war is over, a complete victory for the Emperor....and now to
get greedy in the peace negotiations.

Septemeber 4, 1494
Instead of annexation, which would have pissed off the rest of the Catholic world, I have
opted to tax the hell out of the Bavarians, and take Ansbach from them, they have been soundly
defeated, and the Emperor's Might is secure.

The next section will be added tomorrow. January 1, 1492-Septemeber 4, 1494 is complete.

Do you have a goal in mind or are you just playing it by ear? Either way can be fun I'm just curious. Your right to watch out for the French.

From Now On

I'll post Mission Objectives and War Priorities, so that I dont seem like a mindless fool just causing war left and right. For example, a
War Objective could be to completely defeat France in a war and charge them as many ducats as I can get my hands on. This serves 2 pur
poses. 1-To take French Land, decreasing their economy and military base, and 2-To take french ducats, when they are poorer and I am wealthy, then I have accomplished this Objective. As far as a Plan, i am going to keep the alliances with the minor states, but my goal is to hook up with Spain by about 1505 and enter a strong alliance with them, and hopefully a few other powerful nations, to expand the Empire's Influence. I dont like the Pope too much, so the Papal states may get a visit shortly from me.

Austria-The Mark of the Emperor

Austria- Part II-The Mark of The Emperor

January 3, 1495
The Emperor has personally traveled to Genoa to arrange a royal marriage with them; The Emperor Maximillian is a Master of the Diplomatic Arts.... I only wish I were as skilled as He. The Spanish continue to beat the French into the Ground, and the Emperor watches with admiration for the Spanish bravery in his eyes. El Gran Capitan has been succeeded by another veteran Spanish General Prosperro Colonna. The war is going badly for the French.

January 12, 1495
Crimea declares War on Turkey and Russia honors the alliance. The Third Rome and Crimea will be in for a long war with the Turks, I hope that they spill much of each other's blood.

February 16, 1495
The Emperor has requested that 12,000-Foot Soldiers be raised in Austria, and I have seen to it that they will have the finest Bow & Arrows, Greatswords, and Plate Mail available in the Capital.

March 4, 1495
The Fools in Navarra have rejected to join the alliance with the Emperor...we had great relations with them as well (+75)...this angers the Emperor greatly...Navarra May soon feel his wrath.

March 5, 1495
Under D'Este, the Pope, Savoy, Brittany and Lorraine have occupied the Capital City of Genoa. Lord Foix still tries to take Modena, but to no avail.

March 16, 1495
Modena has fallen to France and been annexed...if the bastards are not careful, they will end up being attacked by every other major power in the world.....The growing power of France disturbs the Emperor; we may have to take action soon.

April 2, 1495
El gran Capitan and Prospero Colona have begun to march east to meet the combined might of Savoy, France, the Papal States, and Brittany.... Under Lord Foix...I think that the showdown is about to begin.

May 10, 1495
Lorraine has retaken a French province from Spain and marches west; the 2 Spanish Generals have ceased movement, most likely preparing for a direct assault from their enemies. The Emperor Lord Maximillian orders me to raise the Nations stability and get the populace under control...no revolts have happened yet, most likely because of the presence of General Barbon in Ansbach.

June 12, 1495
The French and their allies have besieged Lyon and assault it almost weekly, with 75,000 men, the minimal fortress city will not hold long, the Spanish had better sue for peace quickly, before it is their provinces under siege, and not just the French reclaiming their lands.

July 14, 1495
With 90,000 men in Lyon, it can only hold out for another 2 weeks at best, Lord Foix controls the siege, but the Spanish general El Gran Capitan marches west with an army of 23,000, hoping to accomplish what, I do not know.

July 28, 1495
We entered a Royal Marriage with the English, The Emperor believes they could be a useful ally, in the future of course.

August 22, 1495
The Pitiful Genoans pay off the Papal states 250 ducats in indemnities...The Pope lines his pockets while a Catholic Country suffers...for shame.

September 5, 1495
The Knights pay 250 ducats in indemnities to end their war with France... which was foolish of them, since The Emperor's Scouts report seeing no Frenchmen near the Island of Rhodes. Eberhard II of Wurtemberg has rejected our royal marriage offer.... In the coming years, he will feel the might of the Emperor...being a member of the Holy Roman Empire and disrespecting it's liege cannot be forgiven. Catholics or Not.... They will pay. Genoa has paid 82 ducats in indemnities to Brittany...Catholics killing Catholics...for shame.

September 20, 1495
Our spies in France have alerted us to some interesting information. The Reason for Spanish success on Land in the struggles against France has to do with military technologies. While Spain has acquired the knowledge of the field artillery, as the Emperor has, the French are still learning how to operate early firearms, which is why their armies have been trounced again and again in open combat. Lord Maximillian wishes the French and Spanish would end their war and focus on Crusades against the Moslems in the South.

October 21, 1495
Lord Foix has taken back Lyon and marches west to meet the Spanish. Lord Maximillian wishes for the Austrian army to be increased in size, as we will be reentering the flames of war in the coming years.

November 7, 1495
El gran Capitan and his 34,000 man army have engaged the Pope's General D'Este and are soundly trouncing them. Austrian Scouts predict an end to the battle in a week's time.

November 11, 1495
Quicker than was expected by the Emperor or myself, the Combined Savoian and Army of the Pope have fallen to El gran Capitan, and Lord D Este was killed in action. El gran Capitan marches north to engage Lord Foix and the allies of France........... Much Blood will be shed in the coming months.

December 17, 1495
Lord Foix and Allies escape the wrath of the Capitan and siege Toulouse, a attack force of 100 men from Brittany assault the 21,000 men of Spain stationed in Montpellier, after a quick battle they rout, and the 21,000 man army moves to join the Capitan in Aurrillac.

March 4, 1496
Uzbek accepted peace with Sibir, ceding the province of Tenghiz to the Uzbek.
Maroon and his expedition have sailed with 6 warships north...to the Unknown seas of the Norwegian.

April 14, 1496
Lord Pierre of the Knights has taken peace with Prussia, the Prussians have been forced to pay a measly sum of 42 ducats in indemnities...ridiculous, More Catholic on Catholic Wars...if the in fighting doesn't cease, then the Moslems will surely overrun Europe.

June 1, 1496
The Naval technicians have informed Me that they have discovered how to design an advanced rudder, This should be useful in future expeditions and the Technicians have also discovered how to expand a ships bay to include supplies, so a transport ship can now be ordered from the Port...the Emperor's Might grows every month.

June 25, 1496
The Hessians reject the emperor's Marriage Proposal. Under The Emperor's command, I have ceased the attempts to improve relations with the city-states of the Empire, as far as he is concerned, we have enough allies already. Lord Foix has initiated a siege on a Spanish controlled city, while El gran Capitan has almost completely finished the siege of the French city of Aurrilac...Those 2 will never stop the fighting...France and all her allies can barely contain the might of the Spanish Army...The Emperor wants that power on his side, and If I have anything to say about it, he shall have it!

July 26, 1496
Milan has revolted and the French are still too tied up in the west to put the revolt down, the Spanish continue their siege and France & allies try to recapture what has been taken. Once the nation has settled down after the Bavarian war and regained its stability, there will be a War against an unknown enemy... the Emperor wishes to increase the Lands of the Empire, but is not sure who is a viable target for His Holiness.

August 16, 1496
Aurrilac has fallen to Spain and they have begun March northwards. The war should be coming to a close soon, or their nations will begin to rip each other apart from rebels and war exhaustion.

September 12, 1496
Spain pays 59 ducats to Savoy to get them out of the war against Spain, Now lets see what happens. On a side note, the Expedition lead by Maroon has not been sighted for months...a bead of sweat lines the emperor's brow, he desperately needs the information that lord maroon can provide about the outer seas.

November 12, 1496
Spain pays Brittany 55 ducats in indemnities.... Another competitor out of the war. The Emperor has Ordered me to increase Austria's power in exactly 2 years, so I have to create a colossal army that is able to topple any opponent of the Emperor...Lucky Me....Thank Heavens the Emperor has me as his right hand man, The Empire would surely crumble without my aid.

December 14, 1496
IT HAS ENDED! The Spanish-French War is over, and it ends in a Spanish Victory, the French have ceded Bea'rn to Spain and all have begun the March home, REJOICE! The Emperor is pleased with the Spanish victory, as am I.
(On a Side note, this is the first and last in depth war I will cover that doesn't involve the Empire, sorry, but I cant chronicle everyone's personal wars or I'll never have to concentrate on my own. :) I felt obligated to finish this one is all.)

January 1, 1497
The infrastructure of the Empire has improved and our technicians report that we can now build refiniereries, although the Emperor has no immediate plans to do so.

February 1, 1497
We can now place traders; The Empire's merchants have increased the trade income as well, the Empire flourishes, under the reign of Lord Maximillian! I have ordered the fortress in Tyrol to be expanded into a larger size, so as to defend against any future assaults from Bavaria.

February 24, 1497
The Emperor has ordered traders to establish a post in the abandoned colony of Alga. I fear for their safety...these barbaric and unknown lands are surrounded by The AstraKhanate...

March 4, 1497
REJOICE! Maroon has returned with news of thecolony of Iceland, owned by Denmark and Portugal has accepted to share explorations with us, we have almost doubled our map size and have a good idea of the surrounding lands and seas makeup...the Emperor is exalted and many screams could be heard from the royal bedchamers the night of Maroon's return, heheh...I believe the Empress was thorougly satisfied for the first time since the start of the Bavarian Wars...hehe...Now to attend to my wife...hehe...

June 4, 1497
The attempt to colonize a trading post in Alga has failed and the Emperor is out of settlers, what's more, he isn't receiving any extra, so he is extremely displeased that another nation could possibly colonize it first...no wails will be heard coming from the bedchambers tonight.

July 15, 1497
This will go down as a dark day in the history of Catholicism...the Holy Knight of St. John have been FULLY annexed by The Papal States...The Emperor is OUTRAGED at the Pope Alexander VI and has gone as far as to scream for WAR in the prescence of the Austrian Clergy...I have since convinced him to calm down and let me handle the affairs of the state concerning the Papacy. The Rebellion rate in Rhodes is high, 11% and I have informed the Emperor that if the Milanese Rebels can hold off the French army, then the Knights of St. John should be able to reclaim Rhodes and reinstitute the Knighthood.

August 24, 1497
The Emperor requests in 3 years that I increase the Military's Land technologies and prepare for a full assault and annexation of bavaria, I make haste to comply with his orders.

October 1, 1497
Ludvico Sforza HAS RETURNED!!!!!! The free people of Milan have rebelled and claimed independence from France and have declared WAR upon them. Ludvico leads an army south, towards French Controlled Moderna.

December 9, 1497
After analyzing the statistical data, I have decided to declare WAR on France! I order General Barbon to assault the siege force in Milan, commanded by Lord Foix, We must hurry, to save Ludvico and his forces and to crush the French, before this war is over, Foix will DIE! Hungary, Saxony, Lorraine, and Bohemia have joined the Emperor, while Brittany has joined on the side of France...The war begins NOW!

December 10, 1497
The Army of Hungary marches out under the command of General Barbon to attack Lord Foix, he has 10,000 infantry, 7,800 cavalry and 35 cannon men. Lieutenant General Earl has been ordered to march on Foix as well, with the Army of Bohemia under his command, 20,000 infantry, 7, 700 cavalry, and 35 cannons strong. Brigadier General Pose will maintain his defense position in Flandres...The Empire had better prepare for a LONG war...Dark days are ahead...

January 1, 1498
Field Marshal and Conquistador Hakard awaits command in Austria, for now, he has been placed in control of the Imperial Guard, and is ordered to hold his position. Lorraine has also marched on the province of Champagne with about 7,000 men, they will need reinforcements soon to continue the siege, and the Emperor will not disappoint.

February 19, 1498
60,000 men from France and Brittany have launched an assault on the fortress of Lorraine, I have sent the Alsace defenders to assault them upon the HOPEFULLY unsuccessful assault, while their morale is low and push them away from the capital. I must move swiftly, before my men are entrenched in sieges and battles. The 10,000 men (9,000 infantry and 1,000 cavalry) must strike hard or they will be annihilated...may the good Lord and the Holy Pope is with them.

March 9, 1498
In Milan, the Barbon army arrived first, battling Lord Foix and his superior forces, and going toe to toe with them, until the shock phase began and many of our men were cut down. Before we could be annihilated, Lieutenant General Earl arrived with reinforcements and the morale and the lines were refreshed. In the Capital City of Lorraine, the Attack worked perfectly, after failing to capture the Lorraine Capital on the first assault; the Emperor's army has arrived just in time to attack the morale broken Frenchmen. Our military land technology superiority also aids us greatly in the battle against France. But the war has just begun; the dark days of battle have yet to begin...

March 11, 1498
Our Scouts report the battle in Lorraine has ended in a victory for the Emperor, and I have ordered for the Morale broken French to be chased down by the Victorious Alsace Defender army.

March 12, 1498
The French Supreme Commander Lord Foix has been broken!!!!!!!! General Barbon and Lieutentant General Earl be ordered to chase Foix on his retreat route to Tyrol, Milan has been saved and the siege is lifted! G: LORY to the EMPIRE!

March 26, 1498
The Army that was chased down from the Capital of Lorraine has been defeated in battle at Nivernias, In light of this, I have ordered the Alsace Defenders to return to Alsace, the siege at Lorraine has been broken for now. Meanwhile, General Barbon chases Lord Foix to Tyrol, where another climatic battle will begin!!!!!!!

March 27, 1498
General Barbon had to cut off his pursuit of Lord Foix to deal with a french army that was retreating from Moderna, which is currently controlled by Rebels, HA! The French are losing their provinces from the war with Spain and the Emperor is kicking the French King's ASS!! It's now time to outline the war objectives.
1.To remove any French gains from the war with Spain- In essence, to set the countries that were annexed free.
2.To Gain as much land and wealth from the war with France as possible. I would end the war right now for 500 ducats, but the stubborn French will never agree to that, and so I must defeat them on Land, in battle, to demonstrate the Austrian superiority.
The Austrian Army is composed of foot soldiers with swords and shields, and a small regiment of special soldiers who have learned how to use the "gun", a firearm which is hardly reliable, but the crack of the weapon creates terror among the French lines. Our Cavalry are Old Age Knights, heavily armored and trained to run down Fleeing Frenchmen, and our artillery weapons are superior to the French in every way, considering that they currently have NONE! This will be a Great War for the Emperor, Lord Maximillian is elated.

April 11, 1498
On his way to Ansbach, Field Marshal Hakard was intercepted by Foix's retreating army, with only 1,000 soldiers, he was quickly defeated and fled with 510 men, but General Barbon is back on Foix's trail, soon he will be forced to pay for his crimes against the Empire and its army. The New King of France is Louis XII.

April 24, 1498
Once again General Barbon intercepts Foix crushes his army in battle, which quickly escapes to Moderna, I believe. Let us pray Barbon can catch up to Foix and crush him soon.

April 27, 1498
Crimea accepted peace with Turkey on these terms, Kaffa to Crimea...Damn, I could only wish their war would continue, so that more Muslim blood could spill, as they squabble over OUR holy lands.

May 9, 1498
A French Regiment fleeing from Moderna rebels has been crushed by Barbon, as He chases Foix across Milan. Lord Hakard has been ordered to stay in Salzburg and lick his wounds from the battle with Foix's army.
May 12, 1498
The Emperor has erected a stronger fortress in Presburg than we previously had (Random Event); The Fortress is now a small size.

May 26, 1498
Lord Foix's army has been battered and bruised, bounced from battles in Moderna to Battles in Milan, all ending in Rebel and Austrian Victories, instead of sending Barbon south to Moderna, I have decided to split the army, and I've given General Barbon a Half of the combined army of His and Earl's, plus 9,000 infantry, and Ive sent Barbon north, to the French province of Lynoiias. Earl will go along, while Colonel Schober has been tasked with the easy job of kicking Foix around when his retreating army returns to Milan.

July 5, 1498
France Offers a white Peace as soon as General Barbon reached Lyonnais and began the siege. They are obviously worried now, I can FEEL IT! The Moderna Rebels will return the state to their hands if the French cannot defeat them soon. The French are boxed in between being defeated in Moderna by sizeablely larger rebels and then being beaten by the Emperor's armies, which sends them back to Moderna, their Morale never has a chance to increase. Lorraine has taken a province from France and the French struggle with their former allies to regain it….this is beautiful, meanwhile, I order Brigadier General Pose to head south from Flandres to Lyonnaiss to assist General Barbon with the siege. With ample supplies in Lyonnais, and only 6,000 infantry and 9,000 cavalry, plus 57 cannons, General Barbon suffers no attrition, and the city is already in flames after 2 days of siege. The fortress is of minimal size and will fall quickly.

August 8, 1498
Brigadier General Pose is intercepted by a Force from Brittany and France of 17,000 infantry, and 5,700 cavalry, he himself has only 17,000 infantry and 937 cavalry……I pray for his fortune in this battle.

August 16, 1498
The Shock Phases of Battle were horrendous for Pose, His once mighty Army was cut down to 2,800 men and is in retreat to France Comte, were 3,000 Austrians await him. Another white peace from France is offered, but declined once more. The Emperor WILL NOT be bought off.

August 26, 1498
Lord Foix and all his men are dead, the Moderna Rebels have control of the city and the battle for supremacy in the west continues.

September 6, 1498
Lynoaiis has fallen to General Barbon, and when 30 more cannons from Tyrol arrive, He will march southeast , to capture Dauphine.

October 14, 1498
Prussia pays 2 ducats to Denmark in indeminites……Ha! The Emperor scoffs at this, and I scoff too, because he is my Lord and liege and to not do so would be disrespectful. Prussia also accepts a white peace with Denmark. Colonel Schober marches to Franche Comte, to reinforce the army there, with his 8,000 infantry, when he arrives, Brigadier General Pose will assume Command of the Army.

November 27, 1498
Colonel Kontmerg and Brigadier General Pose march, one from Franche Comte and the other from Alsace. The Colonel has 9,500 infantry and 700 cavalry, Brigadier General Pose has a force of 16,700 Infantry and 1,000 cavalry. The Britanny-France Combined Forces Besieging Lorraine have a stronger cavalry force, but I trust that Pose will triumph!!!!! FOR THE EMPIRE HE MUST!!!!!!…….And for my sake as well, I'd really dislike being beheaded from losing the Emperor's War…..Lord Barbon has besieged Dauphine and the city is ablaze, it will only stand for 2 more months at best…….The French and Louis XII have yet to learn their lesson…….

January 1, 1499
George Von Frundsberg has appeared as the Emperor's New General and Has joined Barbon in the siege of Dauphine. Meanwhile, Brigadier General Pose fights with his army as best he can, to hopefully dislodge the siege of Lorraine once More, and send the French-Brittany Army home.

January 12, 1499
Brigadier General Pose fails once again and the army retreats with only 1,600 infantry left to Alsace. The Emperor is elated with General Barbon's performance, but Pose is beginning to lose favor QUICKLY…..The General is also beginning to make me look bad…….Pose will be given command of a large force in Alsace soon…..He had better not fail the Emperor for a 3rd time…….

January 13, 1499
As the Emperor's Head hit the pillow at the stroke of Midnight, I alerted him to the urgent report from Dauphine………It has fallen to the forces of the EMPIRE!!!!!!! A herald rider from France arrives early the next morning, asking for a white peace between our 2 nations………the King of France must take the Emperor for a FOOL!!! After a sound thrashing ( ass-kicking), we sent him and his weak pony riding back to France, to let their King know that the Emperor will NOT be bought off. I tell the fool to tell his king that I will recall the army for 250 ducats and the province of Lyonaiis…..the Fool refuses….even though Lorraine controls Champagne, I control Dauphine, AND I control Lyonaiis…….The Emperor, my lord and liege has ordered me to give orders to Barbon to carry out the siege and assault of Langeudoc…..if the French need more convincing that the might of the Emperor is right, then so be it, convinced they shall be!!!!!!!

February 13, 1499
The Siege in Langeudoc has commenced, General Barbon is an experienced war veteran, but General George outclassess him in all stats…..I will assign George to active duty, as soon as Langeudoc falls, for our next siege.

February 14, 1499
Insantiy…………In 1 day, the minimal fortress of Langeudoc has fallen and the city is ours…..the 84 cannons pounded the city down more quickly than the Emperor could have ever imagined……..this war has been more than a success, it has been a complete show of Austrian Dominance over its enemies.

March 10, 1499
Guyenne is under siege by our forces…….Our field spies report the French Armies inability to capture the Capital of Lorraine is because they lack Siege Artillery…..they have simply surrounded the city and tried to starve it to death…..what savage barbarians…….no wonder the Fools have been unable to strike a blow against us in this war…..Many wails can be heard from the Emperor's Bedchambers at night lately……as well as mine…..A successful war always elicits a positive show of support from a woman……

May 1, 1499

The Free Peoples of Modena have organized themselves into a country again and have declared Indepedence and War on France. War Objective #1 Has been realized, the French have lost the countries they annexed in the war with Spain due to the intervention of the Emperor…..God Bless Austria.

May 2, 1499
We have entered a royal marriage with Modena and hope to include them in our Grand Alliance soon. Our other allies, Bohemia, Saxony, and Hungary lack the Holy Roman Emperor title and cannot give aid to Lorraine and the Emperor, as we would want them to…Modena is a potentially helpful ally, I am glad the Emperor has saved them from the clutches of the Frenchmen.

May 23, 1499
Denmark has Paid 250 ducats to the Teutonic Order in indeminities…I am glad that the Livionan Knights have had some success and I commend Lord Tieffen on a job well done, he has the Emperor's Praise as well.

June 8, 1499
Guyvenne has fallen to an assault from General George…..with less than 4,000 infantry and only 8,000 cavalry, plus 84 cannons, the fortress and town have fallen to Austria. The Emperor feels the time is now to call the Generals home and negotiaite a peace with the soundly thrashed frenchmen. Against the Emperor's wishes, I have decided to decline the french's offering of Languedoc and Lyonaiis, to allow our Generals time to depart from Guyenne, as the Frenchmen will not feed them a bread crumb once the war is officially over.

July 28, 1499
Lorraine's capital is about to fall, so with haste I prepare for peace negotiations with the French……………………………………………The French have accepted a peace negotiation, War Objective #2 is complete. The provinces of Lyonaiis and Languedoc have been ceded to the Empire and a War Tax of 250 ducats has been paid by the French to the Emperor. The French sufferred Greatly in this war, Losing 2 annexed towns and 2 more French Lands, Plus 250 ducats. Besides the 2 victories over Briagdier General Pose, the French were soundly thrashed, not even capturing the capital of Lorraine, after months and months of siege. The Bravery of the Emperor's Generals was one reason for success, but the differences in military technology also aided the Emperor…….the Mark of the Emperor Has been left on the French, and a complete victory against the Kingdom of France, plus a slap to the Face of King Louis XII. This is a GLORIOUS Day for the Emperor and the Empire alike……REJOICE!!!!!!

The Emperor's Law

Austria-The Emperor's Law

June 28, 1499
The Generals Have returned to Langeudoc and await the Emperor's orders. The battered French have left Lorraine and returned their pitiful hides to their capital. The Emperor has ordered me to put down any rebellions that may occur in the next 3 years, and rebuild the Austrian army, God Bless the Emperor for his generousity!

September 9, 1499
All is quiet, and I attend to the task of rebuilding the Emperor's army, while Lord Maximillian analyzes the current diplomatic standings with Spain & Russia........an alliance with the Third Rome and the Lord of Spain Fernado........if only our glorious Emperor could reach this goal........

September 10,1499
General Barbon and Lieutenant General Earl have been sent to Lyonaiis to guard against any potential revolts from rebels, while General George Von Frundsberg remains stationed in Langeudoc, My god, If only Lord Frundsberg had appeared in the Empire's service before the war with France was almost over....his skills are simply amazing....many more towns would have fallen with him as the Supreme Commander of the Austrian Forces, but one thing is certain, with him in the Emperor's Service, we have nothing to fear, especially not a French counterattack.

October 2, 1499
The Polish Have declared war upon the Teutonic Order.........Hmm.....The Livionian Knights are under the Command of Fredrich Von Sachsen....I wonder if he will have as much luck running the Order as his Predecessor Tieffen, If he does, I pray for a swift end to the War, For The Order cannot possibly stand against the Polish with poor leadership. The Prussians, Netherlands, and English have joined the Order in their war against the Polish. Poland has enlisted the aid of the Papal States and Moldavia, while the Polish allies, the Russians decided not to join the Polish in their military conquest........hmmm......Interesting, I must notify the Emperor of these developements.

November 18, 1499
The Turkish have accepted peace with the MameLuks under these terms, Lebanon has been given to the Turks.....Bah!!! I hate to tell the Emperor when 2 Mulsim countries have ceased hostitlities.....the more Blood they shed, the weaker they shall become, for the Hopeful return to the Holy Lands shall commence soon, Under the leadership of the Emperor or the Pope, It Matters Not.

January 1, 1500
Lieutenant General Ferdinand has Joined the Army in Tyrol, While Lord Admiral Jennen and Admiral Loran have arrived with their ships in Zeeland.......2 Master Explorers now work in service of the Emperor......a colonial expansion may soon commence. I have high hopes for an Austrian Overseas Nation, and The Enperor will reward me greatly if I can accomplish this task.

January 28, 1500
I have sent some traders to colonize the province of Dakar, Hopefully they will be succesfull in erecting a trading post and giving us a foothold in the Overseas colonial nations. I only have 1 more group of willing settlers to use, so if these fail, then we will have to wait until we acquire more for further expansion.

April 1, 1500
I've been alerted to the Rebellion on Rhodes Island, 900 or so Men of the Former Knights of St. John have taken up arms and looted Rhodes....the city is now under siege, but a fleet of 19 Papal States ships have been sighted off the coast...Unless the Pope can quickly regain control, the Knights of Rhodes will return once more. The Emperor hates to see 2 Mighty Catholic Institutions at war, but there is nothing he nor I can do.......we will have to wait this one out.

June 18, 1500
SUCCESS!! The Trading Post in Dakar was created, this will greatly increase the chances of the Empire beginning an overseas colony, I am elated and will order the final group of settlers to depart at once!!!!

October 1, 1500
The Peasants in Ansbach have revolted, I have ordered Lieutenant General Ferdinand to march from Tyrol with 6,000 infantry and 5,000 cavalry and meet up with Field Marshal Hakard and his 1,500 infantry. Toegether they will march on Ansbach and retake the Town from the rebels.

October 18, 1500
The trading post in Dakar has been expanded once again....unfortunately the Empire has yet to acquire more settlers to make the journey to Dakar, so for now, the trading post will stay at its current level until more settlers are avaliable. (The only reason i have settlers now is that for every admiral, vice admiral, etc. you are given 1 free unit of settlers, i've used all of mine up so far.)

October 21, 1500
The Free People of Moderna are once again annexed into the French Kingdom, They were soundly defeated and have lost the city the Emperor helped them to regain.......If they want to take control again, they'll have to do it without the aid of the Emperor. Milan is directly north of Moderna, and is probably the French's next stop, I hope they escape the military annexation that was forced upon them in the previous years, but the Empire must rebuild and raise its National Stability, plus we have our own rebels to attend to in Ansbach. Hopefully Ludvico Sforza will be able to lead his nation to a victory against the French army.

December 6, 1500
The Ansbach Rebels have been wiped out and the city is under siege, I hope they will learn their lesson after this insurrection has been put down, It looks bad, having rebels in the Empire.

January 1, 1501
Alexander Jagerrsdhk, Bah, it doesnt matter what exactly his name was, anyway, their is a new Polish King on the Throne, but his military and diplomatic skills are lacking.......he may be a vunerable target in future years for the Empire......but for now, its time to continue the rebuilding of the Empire's armies and diplomatic relations, an alliance with Spain is hoped for, but that dreaded alliance with the Scottish and Naples is in the way, It ends in 1505...... We must move quickly to enter the Spanish into the Emperor's Alliance soon.......

February 18, 1501
The Prussians have payed 72 ducats in indeminites to Molodavia......sigh......I was hoping the Prussians would have show more mettle and raise an army to drive Molodavia back, but this is not the case, I believe the war is going poorly for the Order.

March 1, 1501
France & Brittany have signed a white peace with Milan, after 3 years of inactivity, the French have recognized Milan as an independent nation once more....which was the Emperor's Goal all along, Moderna was not powerful enough to hold onto their independence, so only they can be blamed for their re-annexation.

June 7, 1501
Ansbach has been returned to the Empire, and the rebels have fallen. Thank God!!!! After further analyzation, the Master Diplomat, his Most gracious and mighty Emperor Maximillan has discovered that Spain, Scotland, and Naples have extended their military alliance till 1510........sigh........A alliance with Spain must wait much longer than we had expected.....

July 9, 1501
The Nobles and Bussinessmen of the Empire have given a gift of 400 ducats to the State, which pleases the Emperor greatly, Lord Maximillian will be appointing several new Dukes and Counts, as a reward for their loyalty to the Empire, 400 ducats is a sizeable sum of monies for the Empire, and I will make sure that we get the most out of them.

August 30, 1501
Prussia has paid 208 ducats in indeminites to Poland, It seems the Order and Prussia were both soundly defeated in their war against Poland and Moldavia. The Good Lord will decide who was the righteous one in the end.

December 28, 1501
Persia declared war on the Uzbeks this day, Maximillian is uninterested in these developements though, he is focusing all of his efforts in increasing the countries stability and assinging a tax collector to every province within the Empire.

February 1, 1502
The peoples of Languedoc have revolted this day, and they are 12,000 strong, but Supreme Commander George Von Frundsberg has engaged them and is striking them down with his army of 12,000 infantry, 6,600 cavalry and 63 cannonmen, the rebellion is expected to end shortly.

March 17, 1502
Nothing much to note as of yet within the Empire, except that Spain has annexed the Catholic nation of Naples, their relations were excellent and news of the annexation excites Lord Maximillian. Its good to see our potential allies gaining land and noteriety worldwide.

April 8, 1502
The Hessians have entered a Royal Marriage with the Empire, the Emperor has told me in person that an alliance with the Hessian city-state would increase the Strength of the Austrian alliances tenfold, I hope our next talks of the Hessians will include those of a military alliance.

May 10, 1502
The Hessians have rejected the alliance proposal......hmm.....it seems that the city states of the Empire wont come together willingly......perhaps some force will be required in the future........

August 1, 1502
14,000 Rebels appear in Ansbach and Field Marshal Hakard can barely defeat them with his 5,000 infantry and 5,000 cavalry, I have sent him back to protect the capital, and left Lieutenant General Ferdinand in command of the army in Ansbach, I've also raised 1,000 more infantry in Ansbach to protect against further Revolts. Its a damn shame that the people will not conform to the Will of the Emperor.

Decemeber 1, 1502
The Uzbek-Persian War has ended, the Uzbeks have paid 11 ducats in indeminites, ceded Turkmenstein, Kara, & Kum to Persia. The Moslems must have fought a bloody war..........

February 1, 1503
The Empire is flourishing, there have been no recent revolts, the army is rebuilt, the national treasury is stablizied, the country has recovered from the wars without casus belli's and the Empire has assigned a tax collector to almost every province. This is a time of peace and prosperity for the Empire.

April 2, 1503
As the Emperor and I predicted, the weak and ineffective leadership of the Teutonic Order has lead to their defeat by Moldavia, they have ceded Kurland, and paid 23 ducats in indeminites....for shame.....Lord Tieffen would be greatly saddended by this recent event.

December 1, 1503
The Emperor has decided that a renewed war with France in 1510, with Spain as an ally would prove beneficial to both nations and has ordered me to proceed with the preparations, raising of troops, and subduing any rebels.

February 23, 1504
HERALD!!!!!!!! France has DECLARED WAR ON SPAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Savoy and Persia have honored the alliance with France and the two have prepared to attack the Spanish. Brittany has been annexed by France, so they will be used as a french production base for troops and such. Scotland has announced that it will honor the alliance with the Spanish, but I doubt they will be of any use to the Spaniards in this war. The Empire cannot intervene just yet, as France and The Emperor still have a peace agreement stemming from our last war........we can only pray for a Spanish Victory in this war, May God be with them.

May 24, 1504
The Teutonic Order has accepted peace with Poland under the conditions of paying 122 ducats in indeminities to them. The Order is in shambles, I doubt they will ever recover.....for shame.

June 9, 1504
There has been an incident at the court, involving the Emperor's son and a would be assassin, The assassin was slain by The Captain of the Guard, but Lord Maximillian has been disturbed by the incident (Random Event, Diplomatic skills = 1 for 14 months. The Master Diplomat Lord Maximillian needs time to rest and recover, I will run the state in his stead for the time being, thank god the Crown Prince is alive.

August 1, 1504
The Naval technichians report that they have discovered the process by which to use Caravels, our navy has been upgraded and now fight more efficiently, compared to the previous months news, this is a breath of fresh air, when the Empire is in uproar, everyone feels the effects.....wives become less frisky......soldiers lose faith in their leaders, and Rebels craft plots to overthrow the government.....how lucky I am to be running the Empire at this time, while His Majesty rests......

September 11, 1504
Scouts report that the Spanish have been defeated in the first engagement with the French. It seems the French have mastered the art of field artillery and their soldiers have been developed into a more organized fighting unit. While the Emperor may have my head for this, I realize that the peace agreement with France has expired, and I order that the Nation of France must adhere to the Emperor's Law.....Spain is an ally, a friendly nation, and I wont allow them to be defeated. France must learn a lesson, and our Generals will be the ones to teach them. If Savoy decides to intervene, then we will cut them down as well, as a warning to any other Catholic Nations that would dare defy the will of the Emperor.

September 12, 1504
All of our allies(Lorraine, Hungary, & Bohemia), and have answered the Call and war is underway........Let us Pray for Victory.....Savoy raises arms against us.....WE WILL DESTROY THEM!!! War Objectives are are follows #1 Bring More Lands to The Emperor, and #2 Bring more Ducats to the Emperor.

October 20, 1504
The Alsace Defenders have been ordered to march to franche Comte, to defend the town from any french invaders. Meanwhile a 35,000 man Savoian army marches west to meet our forces. I have Ordered General George Von Frundsberg to march to the city of Aurrillac and to lay siege to it, as it's fortress has not been upgraded, it is of minimal size and will be an easy target, 12,800 infantry, 8,400 cavalry, and 62 cannons will be enough to bring the city down in a blaze of fire!!

November 27, 1504
The city of Aurrillac, in the Province of Cervennes has fallen to our forces, I've Ordered General George to march to the city of Clermont, which also has a Minimal fortress, to take it for the Empire!!!

December 16, 1504
The Savoians have besieged Languedoc, and I have dispatched General Barbon from Lyonaiis with 20,000 infantry, 2,000 cavalry, and 21 cannons to break the siege. I pray for his sucess...for his sake, and the Empire's.....

January 3, 1505
The Savoians and General Barbon have engaged each other in Languedoc, where he soundly thrashed their 20,000 or so infantry and sent them running back to the province of Provence. He is currently chasing them down, to stop them from intercepting any Spanish Forces in Guyvenne, which is were they were headed.

February 2, 1505
We have captured the city of Clermont in the Province of Auvergne from France, that is 2 provinces so far, I've ordered General George to march to the city of Limousin from Auvergne. The Capital of Lorraine has fallen into French hands, so we may have some trouble headed our way, but I've taken precuations and mobilized Armies in Alsace and Flandres to deflect any French attacks that may be on the way.

February 3, 1505
The French offer us peace, ceding the province of cervennes.......I report this to the Emperor, but he is still in a daze over the attempt on his son's life and pays me no mind. I decline the offer, as a sign of the weakness of the French Empire, and General George continues the march west, to Limousin, while General Barbon chases down the Savoian army.

February 18, 1505
Artois is under siege, and I have sent Colonel Kohler with 18,000 Infantry from Flandres to lift the siege and send the French running back home with their tails tucked between their legs.

March 2, 1505
We defeated the Savoians in a battle in Provence, and General Barbon has besieged the French province.

March 5, 1505
A Savoian cavalry force of 1,000 men were defeated by our 4,000 Infantry in a pitched battle in Lyonaiis. The might of the Emperor is being shown on the field and the French may begin offering us more peace negotiations soon...........They offer Cervennes again and we decline, a battle takes place in Artois, which the French have under siege, our 18,000 infantry break their 14,000 infantry in a close battle and send the French away from the city, lifting the siege.

March 21, 1505
The Lyonaiis army (12,000 infantry), is defeated by a mixed infantry/ cavalry force from Savoy and the city is besieged, meanwhile our armies engage the French in Artois,

April 17, 1505
Artois has been besieged by a large French Force, 63,000 Infantry, 10,000 cavalry, and 63 cannons......I must end the war soon, before the Tide changes......In the next war I will raise many more cavalry, which has been the weakness in the Austrian Army's pitches battles so far. The Fort of Artois will not hold long, so I must hurry.....

April 21, 1505
The French offer Cervennes again......against my better judgement, I reject the offer, hoping General George will capture the city of Limoges before Artois falls......

May 12 , 1505
After an assault with about 3,500 Infantry, 8,000 cavalry ,and 62 cannons, The city of Limoges, in the province of Limousin falls, and NOW it is time to head to the negotiation tables with France.....all this time France and the Emperor have struggled with each other, the Spaniards have been given a chance to capture a few French towns for themselves, which I hope they have, because It is time for the Empire to withdraw from this war, the damage has been done, and its now time to reap the rewards of war.

May 16, 1505
The Peace Negotiations are as follows-Augvernne and Limousin to Austria, no ducats were paid. As far as War ojectives go, #1 was accomplished, but War Objective #2 Failed, but the acquisition of these provinces still goes far in the glorification of the Empire. Simply put, Augvernne produces Iron, and we already are the Leading Producer of Iron in the World, which means we have just increased our shares and income of the trade of Iron. The province of Limousin produces Grain, which while not a important trade commodity, brings us closer to being one of the main Grain producing nations in the world......in short.....the Empire has flourished once more, from the spoils of war. The Spanish have been bought CONSIDERABLE time to beat down the French, as the Empire had their full attention, I hope they open the gates of Hell on the French King!!!!! Lord Maximillian should be recovering soon and returning to active duty as Emperor, I pray for his speedy recovery. The Capital of Lorraine has been restored to them, They are proving to be very weak allies in the wars against France, an annexation, whether by the pen or the sword may await them in the near future........

Austria-Return of The Empire

Austria-Return of the Empire

May 17, 1505
The Lorrainian General Antoine II has departed from the Empire and made his return to the capital with his pitiful army of 941 men, who we had allowed to hide from the French in Alsace. The French army is on a collision course with the Spanish, who they have an active and running war against. I must turn my attentions to our new provinces, and subdue any rebellions that could possibly break out. The French were much stronger in this war, and It was only our superior Generals and Leadership that lead us to a quick victory. The Austrian Army must be rebuilt with atleast 7,000 cavalry per army regiment and the Army of General George must be increased to around 30,000 infantry, 25,000 cavalry, and 100 artillery. This will make his personal unit the premeire fighting force in the Entire Empire!!!!

June 20, 1505
Uzbeks and Sibir have started a war against each other, I only wish that more Moslems would intervene, and that they bring ruin upon their cities and people, for the Holy Lands must be reclaimed by righteous Christians, and a weakened nation is always easier to conquer than a strong one.

August 14, 1505
Rebels in Languedoc have beseiged the city, Colonel Algaier and his 13,000 infantry army lost to an army of 14,000 rebels, General George will be dispatched quickly to take care of the Rebel Scum, but it annoys me to know that one of the Austrian Colonels could be defeated by a mere revolution leader. There is still a very strong French sentiment in these newly conquered provinces that must be CRUSHED!!!!

September 18, 1505
The Rebellion was stamped out, and hopefully, there will be no more, Emperor Maximillian is speaking again and should be able to resume diplomatic control of the Empire soon.

October 27, 1505
Scouts report the hostilities on Rhodes Island have been ceased. The Rebel army that wished to restore the Knights of Rhodes was crushed. The leader of the Papal State Army that killed the rebellion is rumored to be the former Venetian General Borgia. It seems the Knights of Rhodes shall not return, as the Emperor would have liked to see.

October 29, 1505
There is a New Czar of the Third Rome, he is Vasili III, An Impopular Diplomat who lacks Ivan the Great's skills, but is by no means an incapable ruler.....an alliance with the so called Third Rome would help the Emperor greatly in a future war against the Polish............even without it, the Russians are a nation with great potential, to become Third Rome in name and in state, by recapturing Constantinople, or to become loyal servants to the Emperor. Their allegiances to the Byzantine Pope and the Orthodox Church are well noted, but the Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire will do what it is necessary to gain the love of the Russian people.

November 9, 1505
The Moslem nation of Turkey has declared war on the Moslem Nation of Mameluks......interesting, I have noted, and the Emperor has also noticed that the two nations have opposite Moslem beliefs, one of the Sunni and one of the Shitte, which will mean a very bloody war..........The Emperor can hardly wait!!!! The Fanatacism of the Shitte Moslems may give their troops an advantage in this war......Turkish allies include Wallachia, Algiers, and Nubia, while the Mamelukes draw upon aid from the Hedjaz.

December 11, 1505
Spain has captured the province of Guyvenne and the French have made no movements with their 60k man army to stop them...........This baffles me quite frankly.

January 1, 1506
Ahhh......Fresh capital, straight from the Empire's Treasury.....The Polish King has changed once more, Zygumunt Istary now claims the throne. His skills are well noted, he should be a strong and absolute Polish Monarch.

September 11, 1506
The French have recaptured Gueyvenne and the Savoians are marching to take Spanish lands, 47,000 Frenchmen have ammased and are fighting the Spanish legions back.......Im wondering what will come of this war.....

January 1, 1507
El gran Capitan is marching northward to meet the French army besieging Rousillon.....I am uncertain as to whether or not his 23,000 man army will be enough to defeat the French.....The French cannons have sped up their sieges 10-fold, they now complete them almost as quickly as the Empire.

January 16, 1507
Uzbeks have paid 129 ducats in indeminites, ceding Ust-Urt, Tenghiz, and Aralks to Sibir. Seems Sibir did quite well for itself in this war......The Emperor speaks highly of the Sibiriean Khan Aguis, who has increased his countries power, granted they are Moslems, but talent is talent, and the Emperor always gives those who deserve it, just respect.

February 10, 1507
French General Pierre Beyard has sailed onto the Island of Sicily and besieged it with a 22,000 man army. Once again, Lord Maximillian speaks highly of the success of the French King in the War against Spain. Granted, the French are our mortal enemies, but anyone who can be defeated by one country and still carry on a successful war against another deserves some measure of respect. Maximillian cannot interfere anymore, Lord Fernado must defend Spain on his own.

February 15, 1507
35,000 men under El gran Capitan have engaged the French army of 47,000, it is unclear yet who has won, More reports from the border scouts will soon follow...

February 26, 1507
The Capitan has defeated the French army and besieged Roussilon, the Spanish City under French control, their war rages on it seems, perhaps it will last as long as their previous ones.

May 18, 1507
Roussiloon has been retaken and besides the siege of Sicily, things are back to square one between France and Spain. I can imagine that soon, the people of both nations will forecibly end the war, because of widespread rebellions.

May 28, 1507
HERALD!!!!!!! My Earlier predictions were correct, France and Spain have ended their war. The French have been forced to pay 157 ducats in indeminites...The Spanish-Austrian-French War is over, with the French and Savoy as COMPLETE losers, I believe that the King of Spain owes a large amount of his success indirectly to the Emperor, who held the French at bay and weakened them signifigantly. Regardless, An alliance with Spain should be successful, around 1516 is when the Spanish-Scottish alliance ends........Lord Maximillian is fully recovered, so he will do what it takes to forge the alliance when the time comes.

July 1, 1507
The artillery and siege technicians have learned how to operate in synch with our infantry lines. The army has increased its training regime and we are a solid fighting force now. (ilitary Land Technology is now level 4.)

April 16, 1508
After a glorious period of peace, rebuilding, and prosperity, the Empire has discovered the key to the art of deflation and has decreased national inflation by 33%, our nation inflation now rests strong at -30% and even a simple infantry unit has become extremely cheap.

May 1, 1508
The city of Langeudoc has rebelled, and General Barbon is fighting with the Rebels to reclaim control, the battle rages on, and it is uncertain who will be victorious.

May 5, 1508
Another rebellion has been successfully squashed, The General has once again silenced unhappy peasants in the Empire.

June 18, 1508
Lord Maroon has set out into the uncharted seas past the Norweigan Sea. Emperor Maximillian hopes for a swift return with new of new overseas provinces and lands.

September 19, 1508
Mamelukes have accepted peace with Wallachia for a payment of 114 ducats in indeminites, The Turkish-Mameluke war has raged for a long time and seems to now be coming to a close......This is a interesting developement indeed............

January 1, 1509
Peace, Prosperity, and Love are the feelings flourishing throughout the Empire, with a full treasury, no recent rebellions, and a VERY strong and well equipped army, things are looking up for the Holy Roman Emperor. Nothing could be better than these times.

February 24, 1509
4 more provinces have been given tax collecters, and Lord Admiral Maroon has returned with news of an icy land to the Northeast of Russia. Although he and his men were not equipped well enough to traverse beyond the White Sea, this new information will be invaluable for future expeditions. Lord Maximillian has ordered Admiral Maroon to travel westward, and discover the new oceans that the Spanish peoples have been raving about. I pray for his success and safe return.

June 1, 1509
REVOLT!!! Augvernne has revolted and they have laid siege to the town. General George has been dispatched to kill the 9,000 infidels and restore order to the province.

June 28, 1509
The Defender of the Faith, Henry VIII has become the King of England!!!! His Lordship is a welcome addition to the Catholic Monarchs, as he is extremely Pious, not to mention a skilled diplomat, his organized nature pleases Lord Maximillian, who wishes to win his favor soon.

July 20, 1509
Augvernne has been reclaimed by Austria, and the Rebels have been vanquished, its now time for the Empire to return to our Peaceful phase, we must use this time wisely, to grow and prosper as a nation.

November 28, 1509
Mameluks have accepted peace with Nubia for 85 ducats and Cataract has been ceded to Nubia. The Mameluke-Turkish Wars continue, much to the Emperor's delight.

September 2, 1510
After +30 months at sea, Lord Admiral Maroon returns from sea with news of a Large ocean in the center of nowhere, he has dubbed this the Central Atlantic Ocean. He also found numberous Islands, a few of which had been colonized by spanish traders. He named the area The WinWard Islands...... There were 4 ships lost on the expedition due to massive attrition and a run through a storm. Thank god the Lord Admiral is safe. Once a few more war and transport ships are created, the Emperor will send him out once more, most likely in early 1511. He has done the Empire a Great Service and will be rewarded handsomely this fine day.

October 1, 1510
The Genoans have signed a white peace with the Teutonic Order and England. This developement does little to spark the Emperor's interest and I swiftly order that the herald be burned.

November 30, 1510
HERALD!!!! Persia has declared war on the Mamelukes, fellow Shiite Muslims.......this has ruined the Persian Nations stability and its People are in chaos (-2). The Hedjaz have joined Mamelukes against the Persians, but since the Turks are still beating the Mamelukes and Hedjaz around, this developement has only begun to seal the fate of the Mamelukes as a free nation.

January 1, 1511
Albrecht has risen to the throne of Prussia and the Teutonic Order. The Hollzenzern family is becoming very influential within the order, and a diplomatic annexation could be possible in the near future. The Prussians are a dangerous group.......from what I've heard, they have the most highly developed army in the world.......even superior to that of the Empire....perhaps The Habsburghs and Hollzenzerns should come together, rather than wage war......

November 9, 1511
Another year of almost perfect peace, despite a few rebellions, On this day, the Hedjaz accepted peace with Persia, Under the conditions that the Hedjaz face full annexation by the Persian Empire.....Persia's strength is immense, and so is Turkey's.... The Emperor would revel in a drawn out confrontation between the two, and much Moslem Blood would be spilled, we can only hope that the Lord will bless us with that war soon......

January 1, 1512
The Turks have a new leader, Selim I, His abilities are impressive, and rival that of the Persian King.....it will be interesting to see what new developements his reign will bring.

March 6, 1512
The Savoians have rejected a Military alliance Proposal.....This angers the Emperor greatly.....if they will not fight alongside us, then perhaps it is time for Savoy to become a Part of the Empire.......

April 1, 1512
The Free Peoples of Moderna have revolted against France once more, and become a nation again.....The Emperor has decreed that the people of Savoy must bow to the Empire......but he doesnt wish to anger the Catholic world, and has decided that the prudent thing to do is avoid a war with Savoy.....for now, the Empire will continue to grow and advance it's technologies.

April 5, 1512
The Emperor has acquired a royal marriage with Moderna, we hope for them to join our alliance in the near future. Austria, Capital of the Empire was the site of the Royal Union, and it is said that the Emperor presided over the services, as Sovereign Minister. I wish I would have been there to see it.

May 1, 1512
Spain and Scotland have taken Modena into the alliance, which has made their alliance last even longer, now to the year 1522, dammit....this is interfering with the Emperor's plans.....If only Spain would cease this useless alliance with Scotland......

December 3, 1512
The Emperor is furious.........Navarra has declined to enter our military alliance, even with our strong diplomatic hands and good relations.......this may be enough to push the Emperor into a mad frenzy, to declare war....

December 23, 1512
Lord Maroon has been dispatched to the western colonies of Spain to investigate them and hopefully find new colonies for the Emperor to take control of......

May 17, 1505- December 23, 1512 is complete
