Austria Run - Need some advice

I was extremely lucky in this first years of an Austria run that i've decided to try out some achievements, in particular: Voltaire's Nightmare, One Family to Rule them All and A Kaiser not just in name.

Here is an early screen, PU over Bohemia, Burgundian inheritance, Claim on hungary


The most important question i have is what's the best way to get 75 country in the HRE, i was thinking on taking over Ireland and France to then release the minors but that wont take me to 20, so should i push to the Ottomans or Spain?

What are the chances that aquileia a 14 dev opm will ask me to join the HRE?

Does the 5th reform also prevent the emperor from fighting the HRE countries?

Should i rush to any reform in particular?

After reign in Italy what should i focus on doing?

Would culture swift to dutch prevent Netherlands revolts? If not, any way to do it?

Is destroying the reformation required? As in no CB all heretics to enforce religion?

Is conquering 150 or so provinces and tag switching still the best way to pass reforms?

Do PU counts for as a country the 8 thrones achievement? (the achievement display 4/10, only country with Hapsburg is Silesia and me+Bohemia)

Does taking Rome from the pope, adding it to the HRE and then returing the core; make the pope switch capital back to Rome and so becoming a HRE member?

netherlands revolt is weak as shit so don't worry about it
the pop joins the hre when you reign in northern italy
it's absolutely vital to destroy the reformation as fast as possible, the trouble areas are often northern germany so be able to hit them and convert the provinces
also you should try to prevent a ottoman takeover in the balkans, annex bosnia and serbia if possible
and grab hungary too

The best way to get 75 countries in the HRE is to get Dip Tech 23 for client states, and make a bunch of one province vassals in the HRE.

You don't need to worry about spreading your dynasty to 8 countries (unless you also want to force PUs, of course). Once you revoke the privilegia, you can place relative on the throne of your HRE vassals.

This is my current run for voltaires nightmare. at 60 right now without client states. I missed too many of the 1594 disappearing cores so now i just have to keep blobbing for it, or wait for tech.
My reformation was brutal. i started this before the hotfix and the Centers of Reformation kept reappearing after i destroyed them. It seems almost impossible not to get this if you just keep rolling with the punches. I had to force PU on Bohemia (twice), Hungary, Russia, and georgia.


edit. I never bothered to reign in italy, it is a waste to do it early you can just reconquer and release (as needed) at your leisure.
I let my reformation just keep going and waited until age of absolutism to crush it due to the bug i mentioned before.

@GRWalker Interesting i never though about that option, i could have gotten it during my one faith then. I though that it was required to get the throne through royal marriage.

@Bouchart That is an option but pretty late game for my play-style and a kind of "cheat". I was interested in the best way to add "real" countries to the HRE, possibly before absolutism comes in as at that point i want to revoke and own all of europe.

@ShahanShah Avoiding Netherlands would be just a bonus not really required, but would be nice if possible. I need to own the pope lands to reign in Italy. Ottomans won't be an issue as Bosnia and Serbia will soon be in the HRE.

@Psychian is there a bug in CoC for center of reformations? does the beta patch fix that or was it hotfixed (not requiring beta patch?). Reign in Italy its just a way to get 7 more country for free in the HRE for me, i just need the pope so not really a waste for me.

the bug was hotfixed already with centers of reformation as far as I know. Probably would have been faster to do this achieve if I restarted after the hotfix.

Don't give them a choice. Conquer. Add to HRE and release.

There are like 5 possible members in the balkans for HRE and Poland/Lithuania has like 10 than that if you add them all. Also add LO/TO/Danzig/Riga/Livland/Estland etc.

Make sure to release all minors in Italy as OPMs. Like Modena et al.

Fixed in 1.23.1 - latest patch.

@Vetgirig I had to release Aquileia from Venice that was why i was asking as i have a truce.
Didn't think about Poland as I've allied them, I imagine that its better AE wise but would Ireland not be a better option?
I should check if someone has eaten one of the minors in Italy.
