I don't know, in a recent 1520 game as England, I noticed that an Austro-Turkish war lasted almost 2 decades, even though the Turks repeatedly conquered all of Austria's provinces save one. War exhaustion revolts would eventually deny Suleiman his victory, though the Austrians ended up paying him off.

It was very strange though. I don't think I've ever seen the AI so tenacious (when they weren't facing me, anyway).

Which kinda hurts them pretty badly since they won't be willing to conclude peace with the Hapsburgs unless either they or their enemies have been defeated entirely. Ferocity = yes is really something that should only be used when an AI is supposed to fight all wars to the bitter end (which Suleyman who intentionally refrained from capturing Vienna and crushing Austria should not).

I disagree, I give ferocity to opponents who are extremely tenacious and will not stop their onslaught until they have what they want from their opponents, that being a major victory.

Personally I wish there was a scale to ferocity, instead of it just being yes or no :(

The point of Suleyman is to provide a very scary, tenacious and difficult-to-defeat opponent.

I agree with this. But the problem with ferocious nations isn't what they do when they are losing (fighting to the death) but what they do when they are winning. I routinely see Turkey totally cvonquer Venice and never accept peace with them, even though the entire country has been conquered. They just won't accept peace under any circumstances. Maybe this is an issue with the betas, because I don't remember it happening before them. It works well for countries that get beaten up too easily...ie Novgorod, but with countries that do a lot of conquering, it can hinder them dramatically.

I just wounder if it is impossible to make peace with Ottoman Empire when Suleyman I rules?

I cant make peace until he dies in 1566 and then my whole country is in chaos

You can still make peace if you offer more than 50% of the current war score. So if you can get to +50% he should accept a white peace.

It pretty much sucked for Ferdinand as well!

I think that if you keep trying they will accept the -50% peace. I've gotten out of wars with the notorious Brandenburg AI that way.
