No, the trick is to PU every catholic country, than integrate it to austria, make every of your new provinces to HRE provinces, than rerelease them as HRE vassal.

Repeat it with every country in the world. klich in 1819 the last HRE reform, become "One world" you can get every province in europe (without United Kingdom, in 1600 as HRE vassal this way. Let you a little bit over 220 years for the rest of the world. And you will not fight wars at your borders, your vassal will do it.

Doesn't sound really that good in contrast to the "PU captures and keeps provinces for itself" strategy.

So now that I have PUs with every Christian country except Spain (can't get the relationship high enough to overcome rivals, etc), should I now convert to sunni so I can start PU'ing the muslim countries? If I do that, what happens to my existing PU's and marriages? Do I lose those? Since I am playing in Ironman, I cannot really try out that strategy.

No would not do that, it would be hell plus you can just use Holy Wars to get land and vassals from the rest of world.

This is my current game with 200 years left, just working on PU'ing GB now and going into India and whats left of Asia.

I used PU's for most of Europe and Vassals for the rest to make my cores.

The Problem at your strategy is, that your coreing time increase with every province. And you need to core a province for reducing the OE and HRE joining. You will run in 17th in a wall, were your coring time is to high for any progress and your WC fails.

Do it with HRE abusing, and you stay at 2/3 years coring time for your growing.

Do not core myself, last time I cored myself in my current game was over 100 years ago.

I don't understand how this "elector trick" works to generate the IA. Can somebody explain that please?

I'm busting my ass trying to get IA to grind through the reforms, and its taking forever. I just bust-up the blobs as they form. I'm burning through manpower like mad and getting ... well, its very slow going.

I have PU with Bohemia and Saxony, but couldn't get Hungary in time. Seems like its either Bohemia OR Hungary at the beginning - not both.

I'd love to actually see the HRE form into a single unit. I'd like to form HRE then try to get as much of everything else as I can.

Revoke elector status. Grant to someone else, Revoke it, Grant to someone else.

so how do you revoke elector after landfriede?

or should i revoke all electorates BEFORE passing landfriede and then re-grant them after passing the reform?
wont that piss off enough ppl to make passing landfriede very hard?

I've tried that, and it works. However, once I implement the first reform, my IA goes to zero -- and then I no longer am permitted to assign new electors, since my IA is too low. Is there a way around this, or must I now find other sources of IA until it's high enough to begin cycling electors again?

The trick is before "Landfrieden", remove 6 elector and grant them directly after them Landfrieden. So you get 60 IA, if you are lucky, it is enough for "erbkaisertum", if not, it is now time to expand your territory and increase the number of HRE provinces.
