Well, i could say germany or spain, but then it wouldn't have so much impact, as those countries are bigger than poland...

EDIT: And by density of population in poland is 90th country... thou first 30 counties are mostly(cept south korea, netherlands and bangladesh) like OPM's by EU standards... or even smaller(baronies by CKII standards). So it is not realy most densly populated region of europe. Counting that estimates for aborigen population in australia in XVIII century are about the same as is their actual population(or little bigger), their population in 1444 was propably much smaller.

It's considered an island continent as it is on it's own tectonic plate as a continent but completely surrounded by water as an island.

I don't think Australia should be a kingdom at all. It became a penal colony and it should be just that if colonised by the British.

I think this is a terrible idea because it is incredibly historically inaccurate.

I suspect that there are other possible island continents. They would mostly contain multiple countries though , what about antarctica though? Does it qualify, despite being covered in Ice.

I'm serious. Viking settle of Australia would be awesome at the start of EUIV (1444) obviously as a fictional scenario because we all now they didn't colonise further than north america.

Humm... if it is covered with ice... we could tell it is flooded... as ice = frozen water.

But if not, then greenland is continent too...

You can flood something with molten rock (lava/magma) as well. Ice is just fine for the surface of a continent. Continents are pretty arbitrary in definition anyways, anything large enough can be considered a continent. Tectonic plates, however, have well defined borders.

If Vikings settled anywhere I think it would be tasmania due to the cold climate and abundance of tall forest trees perfect for building longships. Also, Viking Kangaroo stew sounds plausible.

Even counting the grasslands area as desert (which they're not), the parts of Australia that are not desert probably still dwarf Poland.
