Australian Doomsday - way more expensive?

Cant imagine how crap it must be for you guys seein i got the game for £11.99

I suppose the extra price we pay is made up by the fact that we dont live in the U.K........

Well, in comparison, most other games are equal in real terms when compared with those from the United States or Britain. Its jsut this is not, and the first in a long time that this has happened. I shall send an email to auran asking why this is so.

Order it online from paradox, it took about 5 working days to get to ballarat victoria and it only cost around 47 aussie peso's...

Anyone else in Australia who preordered from paradox received their copy yet? Cos I aint.

Guys just to clear up that i did not actually preorder. My order went in on the 6th of april, a few days after preorder. And it came all the way from sweden in 6 days.. and i am not in a capital.

Maybe it is just luck or maybe your wives/gf's have them hidden in the washing basket...except Sir Humphrey because queenslanders dont wash..... :-0

Naa its not luck... Sweden got a very good postal service... so the actuall shipment to Australia would go in a few days (2-4 days) and the last stretch is up to your local postal service...

Personaly I have to wait another 2 weeks before I can buy it... Even thought its really cheap here (for a game that is)... around 20 euros... (200 swedish kronor)

But I will enjoy it sooooo much when I get my dirty hands on it... hehehehe

Just wondering if anyone knows why the Australian distributor is selling Doomsday for $AUS70 (about $US50). It's just a bit silly when one can get the game from Paradox for so much less, and I also wonder if they're paying Paradox a percentage of each sale or some fixed sum based on the usual price. How do these kind of contracts usually work?

I just spoke to Auran, I think there was a misunderstanding on the price level. They will have an SRP of 49 Aussie Dollars if I'm correctly informed.

Regarding Auran, we really like them and hope you do as well. I am still trying to figure out how "Trainz" work though...

Yea we do... alas there are a few areas that really really suck... :wacko:

Hmm... according to their site, it's $69.95, and Australian online retailers are still reporting that (and it's now in stock - i.e. you can buy it from Auran for $70, or from others for the 'discounted' price of $58 or so). Also, even $AUS50 = $US36, considerably more than the US RRP. Although there's usually a 10-20% hike for games in Australia, almost 100% (or more) seems excessive.
