I'm trying to look closely at that pic to see where the wehrmacht is, but Stalin's eyesight isn't good enough it seems... :p

Anyways, Soviet forces themselves stand at the ready...

New models of Soviet armour are expected to make short work of their german counterparts... ;)

They're too busy being redeployed to strike at the Soviet's soft Siberian underbelly!

To be honest I'm more interested in the level II motorised you've got than whatever the level of your tanks are. Hmm.

Anyway, can't we all be friends?

Well, if we're gonna play the picture game, hopefully this answers your question...

As for the 2nd lvl motorised, well, I needed to tech that to get my mechanised. Wonder if they will be a good enough match for the Italians in the south east?

Playing France and the Vichy Defection Events.

A walkthrough and explanation for asshole axisplayers.

After Vichy fires Free France is a minor power in Africa without any resources or ability to wage major war. The way the game models the resurgance of France to be the 3rd largest Allied power by 1945 is through a series of defections from vichy to freee France. These events take place over the course of the war and are culmative.

Firstly the minor outlyign regions of Vichy defect. New Caledonia, Djbouti, Chad and Uganda. These evnts give resource poor land and minor amounts of manpower. In 1943 Operation Torch fires only if Casablanca is Vichy owned and Vichy is not at war. Once USA has occupied Casblanca, Algiers and Tunis an event fires giving the following to Free France. firstl the USA occupied zones defect along with all Vichy forces in North Africa. Then madgascar and all remaining Vichy territory defects along with all Vchy military units outised of Europe. This has the effect of giving france about 30 militia, 500 manpower and roughly between 20-30 infnatry divisions. By this time France is once again a major military power like it was historically.

Why firing all evets at once wont work: Without the defection of Vichy too Free France whilst US troops are present my forces that I get would be easily destroyed and and lands occupied ths its pointless. I cannot occupy annexed Vichy lands as with my tiny TC I would exceed my limit and would thus be scrwed.

NOW WHY I PLAYED FRANCE IN THE FIRST PLACE:

At the start of this game I spoke to all players about the new Vichy events which I outlined above. I said to all players quite clearly that France was now playable in MP because of these events. All players were present when I expressly said that I was only playing France because of these events and that without these events I would play another nation. Remember when we were handing out nations I took France as first pick when I couldve chosen from many others.

WHY I AM REALLY ANGRY

As I have stated clearly I only played France beacuse of the vichy evnets without them I would've played another nation. My dissapointment with the axis actions is that they knew about France as I outlined above but yet they have annexed Vichy anyway. Thus they have removed that which makes France playable and that which made me pick them. I understood going in that I would lose European France but I knew that I would gain strength through Vichy events. As I have said why editing in the manpower and divisions gained from the evnts is not good enough as I would not have either the lands or the possibility of the lands free fance has through the events. I have explained why I am so bitterly dissapointed and upset with the axis actions. Throgh deliberate actions you have ruined my game going forth from here and you have rendered my 3 months of play to date worthless.

I am personally deeply upset and disgusted by this outrageous move by the axis players. This is not a game issue or a product of the game situation this is nothing but an attack on my rights to the same game experience as the rest of you. You were all aware of the Vichy situation and yet you have deliberatly gone against that and ruined my game. I am offended and upset and the responses I got from other players was quite frankly not good enough.

Also Spain and I according to the non agression pact regarding Vichy and European France: Spain was under the pact forbiddon from attacking and occupying Vichy territory before operation Torch. I will no longer make agreements with munster as he does not live up to them.

Look, I'm sorry BB, I attacked Vichy because I wanted Spain and Italy to get some territory. I didn't realise it would stuff up your game so much.

Omni I have asked the paradox administrators to ip ban you from acessing and viewing this forum. I have explained to them that you are harassing me both here and in vnet before sessions. You have gone out of your way to pickk me out and make comments designed to get a reaction, you are nothing but a troll. Your new tactic of waiting in vnet before sessions is a new low and has prompted my request to the administrators. If you stop all of it right now and promose not to do any of it again I am sure there will be no need for this to go any futher.

That was very rude major. Finishing at 10.30 becuase you've had enough. What about the other 10 people. You could have just left the PC on and let us continue.

If this is how our session are going to go then play on with out me.

You dont quit games or get upset becuase on side is wining. There is always going to be one side wining, your very rarely going to get a very even tight game until later on. If this is how its going to be all the time with people complaining every session becuase one side has advanatge, then lets all just forget it. form some smaller groups and go our different ways. Im sick of this crap, people will make mistakes and get beaten up, they will recover, no one plays perfect. Russia might steamroll us, all he needs to do is play for time.

Don't feed the troll people. We'll just see him create a new identity and come back like the infantile and purile idiot he is.

Anyways, BB's points as I said all along (was it just me agreeing with her?) are valid.

Why else would she have played France in the first place?

On a side issue, the creation of several puppets is ok. The desire to create the african puppets, well, I wouldn't do it, but theres no rule against it. The thing that does trouble me, is the Axis players willingness to piss off BB hugely just for the freaking sake of setting up the Arabian puppet. Not worth it IMHO.

Whatever happens, my offer to you BB of co-oping the Soviets still stands if the edit does not resolve the issues. If it does, well and good.

Now lets all keep polite and nice to each other - some of the back and forth chat was pretty unworthy of people.

Session wise....

This session saw a massive attack by the aggressive fascists against the heroic Soviet peoples. Low efficiency led to several troubling defeats despite what seems to be superior quality troops. Italians in Persia for example, despite being outnumbered, managed to seize Baku. Further attacks were held, but Red Army counter-attacks also failed to regain the oil wells.

In Finland, the local forces proved insufficient to hold massed German amphibious attacks, supported by air and carrier task forces in the gulf of Bothnia. Slowly at first, but then ever more quickly, the Finns fell back in the face of superior german and scandanavian forces. Ultimately, Finland was annexed, it's loss a sore blow to the workers state.

On the main front, Soviet forces pulled back from positions in light of Japanese intransigence about a treaty, prefering the safety of established positions on the Dvina/Dnieper. Initial axis probes met with little resistance.

However eventually massed forces crossed the Dvina and seized Riga. Soviet forces counter-attacked successfully, but were then in turn attacked. The battle still rages, however a withdrawel seems likely. In light of this advance, modern red army formations have massed to deliver a fatal counter-blow.

In the south, Axis forces penetrated as far as Kiev. Soviet air unit responded in force, devestating the Axis armour, and forcing their retreat. Now Axis forces only dare move in massive strength, slowly inching their way forward.

All in all, a very dangerous situation now exists for the Soviets. Massed axis forces, swelled massively by Scandanavia in the north, Hungarians, Romanians, Spanish and even italians in the south have not yet inflicted any losses on the red army, but promise to equal it in raw numbers.

Stalin has noted the poor quality of many Axis formations, however with low russian efficiency, this is not negated by the superior quality red army formations. Time will tell how far forward the Red Army can halt the Axis, but all the workers of the world pray it will not budge one step further back!
