Extending the line is very expensive, the best tactic is probably to build a few forts in key points along the seine/marne line and hold that.

Well I'm probably still too much of a novice to play Japan against the combined might of Jh and Major, so I'll opt for my old reliable, the SU.

GK can certainly play Germany im playing them in our other game and do not want to play them in both games. Ive also done Japan a number of times. I would either like Italy or an axis minor this game.

Might do a little testing and decide who to be.

Nationalist Spain is fun mike, lots of options

Im actauly leaning towards romania. Nationalist spain is good but been done a few times, plus if gibralter dosnt fall the allies have a beach in europe so best leaving them alone i think.

Was thinking of either Romania or Hungary gets nice event if germany gives them slovakia. Romania as more IC and resources, Hungary as some better tech teams in a few areas. Romania also gets more manpower and larger army, good for fighting the USSR if it comes to that.

Will investiage it more though. Looking forward to playing a smaller part in the game for a change, i can be a bit more sneaky with other countires then germany. Germany needs to be to cut and dry to make a good game of it.

We certainly need a Japan player more than we need Spain or Romania IMO. If no-one is keen on them, I'll give Japan a go.

Hi guys I'm back now and I'll be there 7pm tonight. I'll be quite happy to play as Italy, which works out seeing that the only other choice would be Japan and I don't really feel like playing the same country in 2 different games (I know Mike you've had to play more games as Germany than I've had hot dinners). Unless we play a game where everyone is a minor. Bags not Bhutan :rofl:

Whats is happening with the other game? Unfortunately I'm finishing my massive (and last ) uni holiday at the end of feb so I'm hoping that it would have been nearing completion by then. Also I played it through to mid-1942 in SP and the allied fleet consists of 3 battlecruisers and about 80 screens and the germans have stalled outside of sverdolsk (stupid sov ai dow'd in 1940 and got no GPW events as far as I can tell)

Anyway hope you guys have a good Sunday.

Few things, don't download the 1.3b patch, its seriously bugged. We got a new host now, major now has an uber cable connection. Also all our conns are fixed and stable. Make sure also that your modem is set to GDMT modulation not multimode. Cya tonight.

Ok we need to discuss scen..

I favour 38 for the following reasons:

a. Less articiality with war set up - ie war was not a certainty in 1936-38... Thus we accept a more reality driven scenario and build up.

AND

b. Less stuffing around - as 36-38 will probably take 1-3 sessions to get to 38 start, depending on speed, discon, ppl avail etc.

Only problem with the 38 scenario JH is that it is really only for 6 players, all smaller nations are badly screwed. Also I personally find the pre war buildup to be really interesting as I get to decide exactly what type of army I will have and what plans for war I can tailor my forces to. I strongly favour the 36 scenario.
