Jap offensive decimates Allied fleets.

December 41 - Febuary 42

In a treacherous surprise attack Imperial Japanese forces have launched a massive offensive against Allied positions in Indochina and the Phillappines.

The Phillappines.
The IJN landed crack Marines with naval and bomber support in sevral places North and South of the capitol Manilla. The Phillappino Army and the small US Army garrison put up a strong fight but were soon overwhelmed and were driven back to the capitol where they were surrounded by the now reinforced Jap troops. After resisting sevral attacks on Manilla the garrison was forced to surrender and the entire country was soon overrun and annexed by the Japs. The archipelago was then quickely converted into a Japanese puppett. American losses were 3 Infantry divisions and 1 cavalry division. These lossses will soon be avenged. Remember Manilla will from now on be the war cry of our armed forces in the Pacific.

South China Sea.
In a series of stunning victories around the South China Sea the IJN has smashed British naval forces who were supporting the hard pressed Allied troops fighting gallantly against the IJA in Vietnam.

The Pacific
USN forces have taken advantage of the Japanese attacks on Indochina and the Phillappines by conducting landings against lightly defended Jap Island outposts in the Western Carolinas and Western Micronesia. Palua, Saipan and Iowa Jima fell in quick succession to our brave Army boys. US bases have also been established in the South West Pacific to help defend our Allies in Australia and New Zealand.

With the RN,s South East Asia fleet out of the way, USN commanders now expect the IJN to turn East and take the fight into the central Pacific. The USN is ready and waiting.

Bring it on Tojo :).

As we are an Australian group, we try and stick with Australian/New Zealand players mainly due to the connection issues. Most group spots are already filled.

An interesting 2 sessions, which has seen the US and Japan finaly enter the war and the start of the second german offensive in Russia.

Japan joined the war and almost straigt away an allied invasion consisting of UK/French/Austrialian and other allied forces landed in southern vietnam pushing up north of saigon catching the Japs by suprise by the early offensive. To halt the offensive Japan sent in its CV fleets to find, trap and destroy any allied fleets that were in the region. What followed was surely the greatest ever route at sea, which i have never seen so one sided.

The main Jap CV Fleet engaged the main UK fleet in the area of the coast of southern vietnam. The UK fleet took a hammering and retreated, but the Jap fleet chased them all the way back to singapore. Then result from the battle was the loss of 3 Uk Carriers, 4 Battleships, 3 Battle crusiers and a number of smaller ships for the loss of 1 crusier and 1 destroyer. A huge vicotry for Japan, but what followed was nearly as bad for the allies. With command of the seas Japan went about driving the allied invasion back and trapping the forces or as much as possible.

The allies made desperate attempts to get forces out by sea and suffered large losses once again at sea. In the end around 20+ allied divisions were destroyed or captured in vietnam. Add to this the succesful philphine camapiagn were another 15+ divisions were destroyed things were starting to look good for the Japs. For the allies things just went from bad to worse with the Japs army pushing down into singapore resulting in another 5-6 Divisions destroyed or captured.

Total Allied losses at sea are 3 carrier's, 4 Battleships, 3 Battle Crusiers, 10 crusiers, 9 destroyers, 5 subs, 5 Transports for the loss of 2 Jap crusiers and 1 destroyer.

Japs forces are now pressing into the dutch indochina. Also iwo jima was retacken from the US with Jap forces finding brand new radar, airfield and port facilities there, tojo apperently sent FDR a thankyou letter. The 3 US divisions there are busy building railroads in burma.

On the Eastern front Germany/Italian froces unleshed the second offensive of the war in early June 1942. The main drive came out of Perekop and smashed into melitopol with more forces joining the attack from Dnepreptrovsk, the soviet forces there of 40 divisions was easily smashed and pushed aside. German panzer forces raced to the south heading to svestapol where the russian army was retreating hoping to catch the german on two fronts was they re-org again, hitler would not allow this. German forces raced to Kerch to try and trap the soviet forces there but they managed to jump on trains hours befor the panzers cut them off. 6 old soviet divisions were caught in svestapol and destroyed.

Meanwhile German forces pushed north into Zaproozhye and arrived in force, the soviet amries were being esaily pushed aside and retreating in gret confusion, not expecting such a massive german attack, confident they woul psuh the germans back in 42, this would not be the case. Forces pushed east into stalino and rostov fell in qucik succession. Soviet forces started withdrawing seeing the possibility a great number of there army could be trapped around kiev and across the river line, lucky for them they did. Kiev finaly fell and at sessions end Poltava fell.

In 3 weeks German forces has smashed all soviet opposition, can we can continue the offensive into the depths of russia and to victory, time will tell.
Hitler is most pleased at how succesful the opening weeks have been not expecting such a rapid advance while facing so many forces.

Th conclusion from the last 2 sessions: The Axis advance on all fronts.

Rabid Japs Infesting Asia

Asia Pacific March 42 - July 42

IJA forces continue to advance in Burma and Indonesia.

Commonwealth forces in Burma are slowly being pushed back after Allied defenses around Rangoon were stormed by fanatical Jap troops. Singapore and the Malay Peninsula have also fallen to the yellow peril. IJA units have landed in Java and Borneo meeting only light resistance from local Dutch colonial units. Iwo Jima has been retaken by the Japs and the 3 infantry divisions defending the outpost were captured after a heroic stand against overwhelming odds.

In some good news our USAF aircraft and crews have been more than a match for the happless Jap flyers. Our brave lads winning almost every air battle.

So far no Japs have ventured into the 'Hornets Nest' Central Pacific.

In Europe.

Over Europe USAF units have bombed Axis targets and engaged Luftwaffa fighter formations with some mixed success.

FDR wants all Allied leaders to brace themselves for a long war and to marshall the strength needed to throw back the Axis tide. After the debarcle of Mr Churchhills Vietnam adventure the Allies must now hold fast. Hold the line everywhere. Everything will be done to prevent the Japs from reaching India and Australia.

well i learned a horrible lesson that you have all probably gotten wind off.

Under no circumstances stack normal tps with garrison tps - like I did in Rangoon,

Given Garrisons cant retreat, it treats the whole stack as a garrison and eliminates them all!!!

Bugger me!!

This was a bigger blow than anything up to date!

Imperial Japan has finally entered the fray of battling nations. Having mobilised it's armed forces, an all-out assault began in Asia.

Philippines

At 0 something hours, crack Japanese marines supported by fighters and a large Japanese fleet began the assault on the Philipinnes. All positions were quickly overunn with 15 divisions becoming entrapped in Manilla. A few days were taken to seal the pocket, which was overunn in a matter of hours. Over 200,000 Allied divisions were killed or taken prisoner, and the Philipinnes fell under the Japanese boot.

Vietnam

A suprisingly daring Allied invasion was soon underway in Vietnam. Realising that this might pose a threat to it's flanks, the Japanese High Command was forced to send all available re-inforcements. The Allied forces were soon trapped and annihalated, destroying any Allied hopes of a large scale Japanese defeat.

Battle of the Gulf of Siam

A large Allied taskforce was intercepted by a minature Japanese fleet consisting of 6 Carriers and 14 screens. Realising that Allied airpower would wreak havoc, they were quickly evacuated.

Battle of the Gulf of Siam: Take 2

The main Japanese carrier fleet was quickly sent enroute to this particular location. At once, the Allied taskforce was encountered. Heavy losses were dealt, and the Allies quickly withdrew. They were however chased, and every Carrier vessel in sight was quickly sunk along with a few hapless screens. This was for the loss of 2 minior Japanese vessels.

Iwo Jima

The Americans had been for weeks taking advantage of Japan's pre-occupation. They swiftly took Saipan and Iwo Jima, perhaps believing they could actually hold them. Japanese forces from Vietnman were instantly enroute, and retook Iwo Jima swiftly, killing or capturing 50,000 American soldiers.

In the West

British positions in Burma and Singapore were quickly overunn, paving the way into Dutch Indonesia.

-----

Japanese forces have proved themselves superior in every aspect of war. The Allied armies have been defeated in each engagement, and will continue to be defeated until Japanese hegemony is established in Asia.

And here is the news from the CBC.....

And what can us smaller allied nations add to the momentus planetary events going down in Europe and the Pacific....?

Our reporters at the Canadian Broadcasting Couch report that:

-- Canada continues to develop an almost less than formidable defence force -- many lumberjacks, ski-lift instructors and even horny Quebecoise barmaids (who are well experienced in blowing sailors, both in and out, of the water) have answered the call to alms, and are receiving extraordinary secret training in.....errr never mind about that.....anyway...expect to see crippled and sapped axis units any day...

-- On the technological front, our stunning 2 slot, multiskilled, intermittently firing neuroned and unidextrous Tech Teams are both working at a feverish pace....again too secret to even hint at.....all the govt will say is that our airforce expects to be flying safely any day now. Once that milestone is achieved, we may even consider working on practical methods to carry bombs....AND...drop them on the enemy....should we ever find him!!

-- On the Intelligence front, we have proof that the Germans, Italians, Romanians and other fastidious nations are beginning to fall all over each other in a race for world conquest -- our codebreakers have message intercepts where Axis leaders have been name-calling each other with less than courteous terms like:
- "stay out of my sphere of influence you scrote", and
- "where is that useless poxed-out airforce than you promised me, goatrider".
Hitler even rudely cabled Mussolini , informing him that should "any of your spaghetti-eating, effeminate, feather-headed, cross-dressing, rump-pumpers ever get their sardine-can tanks in the way of my panzers again, I will crush them to scheisse!".

We strongly suspect that these early cracks will cause serious problems with greedy axis nations trying to carve up the world.
We can confirm that we have already recieved surreptitious diplomatic approaches to the Allies concerning potential deals should an axis member nation turn on their own esrtwhile allies. This is a very interesting development!!

Apart from that, Allied plans are beginning to take shape!!!

Cheers

reading the top few entries i can see that someone needs to play as china. weve got to remeber the reason that not all of asia was consumed by the japs was because 3/4ths of their ground forces where tied up in the chinese war.

so long story short if u need a china player im ur player (other countries i can do aswell
