An update from Washington.
Reports indicate some losses suffered to Japanese air, but the US is pleased with its ability to shuttle increasing numbers of units to active theatres. The US army, navy and airforce grows daily.
The main enemy thrust was against New Guinea in the Pacific. Japanese forces, supported by air, led a strike towards Port Moresby. Australian troops operating under US control managed to secure the heights of the Kokoda trail in the Owen Stanley ranges.
Aussie troops defeated Japanese advances. Reports indicated that the encounter at first went against the Aussies, but after 1 loss, 3 victories followed. It is assumed this explained the chants of '3-1' repeated time and time again after the Japanese loss...
