Here's an overview of the embark site:
It's a bit hard to describe... the green areas are jungle, the red and yellow areas are desert. But neither one is flat. There is a wide ridge running West-to-East, with a stream flowing Eastward along the center of the ridge. To the North and South are lower ground... especially in the South-East, which is about ten levels below the ridge-line... while the stream drops off a ten-level waterfall into a North-South river below.
The jungle to the West is very densely forested... so densely that there might not be a passable route for Caravan wagons until we chop one out and pave it... while the desert to the East is almost bare of vegetation.
We have sand (for a glass industry), fire clay (for pottery), three different Iron ores plus Dolomite and two types of Coal (for a Steel industry), several different non-ferrous metals (including Lead, Copper, Silver, Gold, Nickel, Zinc, Platinum)... and over 7000 Adamantine (!) which extends more than 60 levels above the Magma sea.
No volcano... the nearest Magma is the Magma Sea at the bottom of the world. That's quite reachable, though, given all the hydroelectric power available on this map.
What do you think?
