I actually don't want exploration to be an important part of the game. Exploration worsens the worst aspects of 4X games: lack of interaction with other players for much of the game, rewarding lack of interaction with other players (the longer it takes you to run into other players the more territory you can colonize for yourself) and much of the game often being decided without interaction with other players.

I'm hyped... I just don't understand how anyone can be disgusted yet.

Absolutely. We have no idea what the game is even about yet. Now I can't say that I'm not disappointed as I really think they should revisit Rome now they have Crusader Kings 2 down pat but I'm not going to rage against Paradox for trying new things. Its good for the company and its good for us.

I just think some people have limited imagination. They imagine this to be yet another ordinary space game, while we visionaries imagine it to be EU4 and Victoria3 in Space.

Exactly. I'm intrigued by what they might do to the genre.

I think with all the disgust and opprobrium being bandied around, the kindest thing would be to say that some people are "passionate" about Paradox and the games they make, the less fair way would be to say that people take trivial things so very seriously and a little perspective is probably in order.

Naive optimists are visionaries nowadays?

My visions are based on what we so far know about the game, both from screenshots and the description of the game on Steam. Add that to the fact it's a Paradox grand title, and a game they have been dreaming of making for a long time, and I dare say it's far from naive optimism. The main thing is this is clearly Paradox' vision of a Space GSG, and not a poor copy of mediocre previous space strategies..

How do you know you can colonize the moons of planets? I can't see anything indicating that. I am very curious what "Construction Ship" means... A unit that can build space constructions, like outposts, bases, big space ships, etc.? This could be a colonial ship, in a way...

Because one of the planets has a moon and has a similar orbit around the planet as the planet has around her star, meaning that satellites are handled as separate objects from their celestial parents.

Well, while I'm at it, I'll add wishlist, although the game hasn't been officially announced yet:
1. Terraformation
2. Multiple moons around planets
3. Gas giants with moons, many mooooons
4. Different gravity planets and satellites -- it can be a handled in a similar fashion as Endless Space did
5. Terraformation
6. Different "desired" planets for each race -- aka different final stage transformation for each race, for example Earth-like for humans, but oceanic for space-whales and volcanic for silicate life-forms --, if there are different races
7. Terraformation
8. Late game planet construction transforming gas giants and asteroid belts into rocky planets
9. No Dyson spheres, I don't want them
10. Death Star and planet deconstruction

Might be you fail to see the potential of Paradox GSG in space, I don't know. Perhaps you just dislike the theme space in general.
