Hello everyone,

I was wondering if somebody knew how exactly is implemented this "attractiveness" thing in the game. I did some testing with a tram network. Simple stop sign with 0% maintenance, then upgraded (thanks Colossal!) all the stops to luxury ones and with 100% stop maintenance. With plenty of vehicle capacity to make sure it doesn't bottleneck the experiment. In both scenario, about same profit and same average number of passengers carried in the annual report (although in the first scenario it looks like it took a little more time to reach the maximum number of carried passengers). Same also with very low or very high ticket prices. And I noted the number of days it took for passengers waiting at a stop to get angry. About the same, too.

I also wonder how reputation affects the number of people taking public transport. I had 100%, then destroyed some buildings, reputation now 0%, and about same profit and carried passengers per month. Anybody experienced similar things?

Despite these concerns, I truly enjoy this game. And many thanks for constantly improving it with patches or new content.

Yes, it was mentioned by the devs a few months ago.
Higher maintenance means passengers will be more patience and will become angry (red face) after a long time.
EDIT: It is the same with the different kind of stops.

When experimenting with stop attractiveness, have you noticed changes in your reputation?

From my personal experience, I saw no effect of stop attractiveness (upgrading or maintenance) on reputation.

I think that the more attractive the stop is, the more patient the waiting passengers are.

I mentioned this in my first post. The number of days for somebody waiting at a stop to get its red angry face was not influenced by kind of stop or maintenance.

Thanks for feedback.

Honestly, i've never made any experiments like this, but neither did realise any difference between different stop types. However i'm using better stations depending on its usage just to make it more realistic. :)

...and they do look good and make me feel good for caring for the comfort our my dear customers. However, when you read the manual, you would really expect attractiveness to have an actual impact on the game mechanics, other than hitting your budget... Also, because reputation has no impact on the amount of carried passengers, that means advertising is useless to attract more customers (well, at least with my testing). A bit weird, IMHO.

Still an addictive game, though!

Wanna test it ?
Make 2 similar lines, same vehicules, same trip. One with basic stop and the other one with luxury.
The luxury line will attract more passenger than the basic one.

I tried your idea with enthusiasm. Unfortunately, there was no significant difference: I let run this saved game (http://puu.sh/2DmN) for 2 years; in the roster I see line with basic stops moved 312 people; line with luxury ones, 300.
