So far, not a peep out of either bol.com or Dynabyte, alas. And yet, those two carried the previous incarnations.

Yet another title I'm unable to get ..... Yep, I'm old fashioned. I like an installable CD on my shelf. Those can still be used long after the original publishers and/or distributors have gone out of business, and pulled the plug on whatever servers they had.

I wouldn't worry too much. HOI3 isn't really the title that's on the shops' radar. What regular shop/employee is gonna know of HOI3 let alone put it up for pre-order? It's not the latest Mario for Wii you know.

Johan said that most shops that carried the previous games will probably also carry this one. I trust in that. Even if us dutchies are completely forgotten (which I doubt) there's always alternatives. Like play.com like someone mentioned. And when you haven't got a creditcard you can always regularly check ebay for used copies. I've bought the doomsday dvd for 10 euros, including shipping, from a UK based ebay seller.

I'm sure you'll get to play HOI3

ive bought most my paradox games at http://www.dpluss.nl dont know how fast they are with pre-orders because i bought the games after they were released

they still sell europa universalis 1 boxed

Hopefully Paradox Interactive carry a boxed version for sell somewhere. I do not want to download and burn to a cd/dvd. I want the manual and will gladly pay for it. Just tell me where I can buy it!

Do you know in which Greek stores is going to be available? I am asking because in Greece they only advertise the most popular games. The only video game advertisement i have seen is for Halo 3 , FIFA 2009 and PES9. So , I don't know where to find it.

Surely in Plaisio and in gameshop.gr (you can preorder it from there)

I started using Gamersgate with EU:Rome and I must say it is very convenient. You get the choice to save the installation files on your HD so reinstalling is as convenient as from a CD.

The thing I like about the digital distribution is that it protects my CD from being damaged and/or lost.

I actually own two copies of HOI2 because I lost my actual CD (though I did find it later haha).


On the whole I have been very happy with Gamers Gate, Direct2Drive, and Steam. It's nice to know that in the event of a reformat or whatever, all I have to do is go there to get my game. It's come in very handy since I have recently moved and a lot of stuff is packed up.


Plus if I need to have it portable, I can just burn the contents to CD myself.

Target should have it. They had EU3 when it came out. I wouldn't bet on EB Games or Gamestop carrying it, especially since they're both now owned by the same company. Not sure about Best Buy, and Wal-Mart...I just avoid that place like the plague.

I got EU3:complete at Gamestop and i saw it in walmart.

I saw but never bought EU:Rome in Walmart and Gamestop.

And i got HOI2 at Best Buy.

And HOI1 at a local Midwestern super-market chain.

Basically, a lot of US stores end up carrying Paradox games, but usually they show up there later than they would elsewhere in the world and definitely later than you could get it if you bought it on the internet.

Which companies in the US will carry the game? EB Games told me they only carry "mainstream games". Gamestop told me they did not know it was even a game and never heard of Paradox Interactive. Neither list it online. Best Buy does not have the game or Paradox Interactive on their web site and I can not find it at Wal Mart. So where can I get a boxed version of the game when it comes out.

These are the same retailers I have checked with, and none of them at this moment say they will be carring the game. From my guess I'd say these are the major video game retailers in the country, maybe they just dont have it in the system yet....

Maybe instead of holding out in the ivory tower while mainstream barbarians are pounding at the doors, maybe someone should contact Southpeak (or what was that distributor?) and ask them, "WTF people, aren't you supposed to be, you know, DISTRIBUTING the game in NA?"

I hope Johan and Fredrik aware that you can sue for a lot of stuff in the US, and a distributor of physical boxes not distributing them is a sure thing.
