I was wondering since children of perun works like stabilty does it synergy with astrology? according to wiki children of perun works with reformations letting you choose heir but it doesnt say it synergise with astrology but stabilty does?
and also: what does stabilty + astrology do?
I was playing as russia (formed as kiev... sry ruriks :p) and gonna make russia center of culture and technology (aka: Ambition of st.petersburg... but no will not move capital to narva :p) so going for auton+children of perun and was deciding for good second doctrine

Children of Perun and Survivors of Ukko both have the same synergy with Astrology as just regular Stability.

The synergy is that when a child is born and you get the event where you can choose to give the child a health bonus or plot defense, you get an additional option which will randomly give the child either a big bonus (more likely) or a significant penalty (less likely). Having high piety increases the chance of a good outcome.

then wiki is being weird by stating is specificly for meritocracy/agnatic/enactic but not for astrology :p
will try it then :)

do you know what events trigger with meritocracy and stabilty? maybe I will go for it instead since I dont think I need more health for my children

The synergy of Stability with Meritocracy or Agnatic/Enatic Clans is a chance to improve education trait whenever you use mellorism to give a courtier (or yourself) a stat boost.

I playing for some time now and this never happened? is this guaranteed or has chance to happen?

I think it's supposed to be guaranteed, but looking at the files again I'm unable to find the code that triggers the event which upgrades education trait. So either that parts is missing and the whole thing doesn't actually work or I'm looking in the wrong places.

If we assume the latter, upgrading education trait would still requires you to match the stat boost with the education trait. For example you could only improve Learning education if you improved a character's Learning. So this would mostly be used to make a terrible heir less terrible, as the better an education already is, the lower the chance you can provide a stat boost to the relevant stat and improve it further.

Oops, my bad. I just assumed you'd be quoting the last thing I posted.

The astrology thing is supposed to be guaranteed and always happen. That said, upon closer inspection it seems to only trigger for your heir, which will typically be just your eldest (unless you have Ultimogeniture).

hmmm... so in that case it will happen after I get primogative because at elective gavelkind my heir will not be "heir" when he born.

Right, you don't get the event with any sort of elective succession law nor with Seniority. Regular Gavelkind though would let you get it and so would Open if you reformed with Agnatic/Enatic Clans.

how can I have astrology/stabilty and agnatic clans may I ask? :p

Mods. There are mods for 4,6, and 9 doctrines (there are possibly others but I'm not aware of them).

Also I made my first mod ever!! It increases max commanders for kings and emperors (more_commanders).
