Hi,

There is definitely something screwed up with Assigning Science Ships to Anomalies, I click the Anomaly icon (blue microscope) and it opens the window and has a Scientist already assigned. Firstly why is that? Secondly, I change the Scientist and click the research button, it seems to accept the it, but if you look a minute later, is back to the old scientist, so I do it again, sometimes 2 or 3 times before it actually works and the research. Apart from this, it seems so klunky this way. Why can't I click a science ship and tell it to go and investigate. The whole Special Projects/Anomalies needs so much micro management its beyond a joke! Why should I have to put a ship it orbit before I can research?

Cheers
Dave

The window does not show the scientist that is assigned to the job, it shows the anomaly and suggests a scientist to send towards the anomaly if the anomaly isn't already being researched.

You can do exactly that. Select the science ship and right-click the system that the anomaly is located in, then select the anomaly option.
If there are multiple anomalies in the system, you may instead have to enter the system and right-click the planet with the anomaly that you want to research instead.

Thanks, just tried it, much better all round. I didn't know about right clicking to give an order. One other thing, is there anyway of scrolling the Galaxy Map other than moving the cursor to the edges? Ideally I'm like to be able to Shift/Control/whatever Click and Drag the map.

Thanks again
Dave

Middle Mouse Button, WASD, or the Arrow Keys on the Keyboard all work.

WASD is probably the best option, since it allows you to also reach E, which is the hotkey to enter/leave a solar system, as well as 12345etc which you can bind objects to with ctrl+12345etc.

Shift would be used to queue orders for fleets, science/construction ships, etc. Alt is used to display system resource yields on the galaxy map. Holding RMB and moving the mouse rotates the camera. If you have a little extra cash, I'd highly recommend a mouse with MMB, even if you're using a laptop. I can't imagine not having one. You can get them for pretty cheap these days. WASD is the way to go, though. Just like controlling a player character in a FPS.
