Is there any way to do it, rather than taking whatever the "Add Worker" button gives you?

I ask because mixing one clerk in with the craftsmen is supposed to increase productivity (is that true?). But if you have two clerks in a state, they'll both go into the first factory you open. If you open another one later, you can't dig the extra clerk out of the first factory and put him in the second one. :( Any way around this?

When you add a worker to a factory from a pool of unassigned workers, the game takes the largest POP available first (at least in my experience that's how it works). With that knowledge it may be possible for you to shuffle the workers around to your liking.:)

Edit: from the thread of changes to the game after the printing of the manual:
"- You can have up to 2 clerks in a factory, but each only gives a 150% output, instead of 200%.
- You must have at least one craftsmen for every clerk in a factory now."

I assume when they say clerks and craftsmen, they're talking about POPs not people.

Thanks... in order of population, eh? Well, the clerks are usually smaller POPs than converted farmers, so in that case it would work out, but not always. I shall have to work on my POP-wrangling. Thanks again...
