Assign 2 guards to patrol the inner courtyard

This does not work on the Windows Store version!

I have sent 3 hours trying to work this out, watching videos that are 5 years old and 100% different to this version, and put simply it doesn't work.

I have just purchased this game on steam with all the dlc and first time playing it. I'm freaking stuck with the 2 guards in the courtyard. I can't damn do it!! Is there a way I can just continue without doing this part?

Was having the same trouble, set up the route and the guards, and the unpause the game and let ir run for about 5 seconds.
