I think that's how you spell it, with two ass-es. Anyways... why is it so damned hard to assassinate someone?

I tried several times to kill a king with equal intrigue, or a member of his court even, and i was always a failure and discovered... however he always succeeded in his attempt to reciprocate.

I even tried cheating (er.. experimenting) and killing off his spymaster with a cheat and then tried to assassinate him.. still no dice.

is this an issue with my ruler, or something? I dont know.

Even with a great spymaster it's pretty hard. I've found that maybe one out of three attempts succeed when my combined intrigue is roughly double the potential victim's intrigue. And even then I still (almost always) get caught.

About the only time I've gotten away with it scott-free is when the victim has no spymaster at all.
